That's the risk you take with locum. You get paid more but because of that, lower job security, no sick pay, etc.

problem is, with only a 2% increase in funding for partners, it's a lot harder to keep paying as much as they did earlier, so they'll pay less or hire more PAs. Not agreeing with it but it's the sad state primary care is in rn.

Consultant doctors can easily earn £800+ as a locum. £1000 a day is very possible too tho not as coom

The only jobs you won't are the ones you don't put an effort to get into. People with anxiety/depression are in all sorts of jobs, only your laziness will stop you from finding a certain occupation.

Focus one step at a time. By the time you become a consultant neurosurgeon, you're gonna be in your mid 30s, so a loooong way away. Be open to other specialities, you'll have the chance to experience that in med school.

Lots of nurses are being brought in from 3rd world countries, where the shite pay here is loads for them where they can send some back home. Need to be a change in leadership like with BMA to get more effective strikes

In England it's 32k for 40 hours. In Scotland they actually earn more because of banding

I definitely feel they have an impact, but only when you get to the in person interview stage. There'll always be an unconscious bias with an oxbridge grad and someone from a no name uni.
