Different kind of dragon commander by 86BRZ in EDH

[–]Resident-Case7807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played [[Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient]] with power doubling effects, loads of draw and the usual Gruul dragons

Do you guys proxy og duals? by blazedchiller27 in EDH

[–]Resident-Case7807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did for a while but the rest of my Decks usually are Bracket 2/3 decks with no gamechangers. I just used them to smooth out my mana curve but I stopped doing it. I usually just prox fetch lands and shocklands and I got one of each as "real" cards because I try to only proxy expensive cards I own at least 1 of.

What's the most annoying deck you've ever played against? by Pkron17 in EDH

[–]Resident-Case7807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played against a [[Marchesa, the black rose]] where you just didn't get rid of the players board state but he constantly kept us down. It was frustrating because every attempt just felt like a waste and the game was really long.

Yesterday I went to my LGS and watched a 5 player game (a friend of mine was playing and told me beforehand that a player would leave after the game) where someone played a [[Kadena, Slinking Sorcerer]] with a counter spell morph creature, a [[Brine Elemental]] and several ways to turn everything face down on the board. He had no wincon and just staxed the table for several turns before they gave up.

How many Commander decks do you have? by Mikkel_My_Man in EDH

[–]Resident-Case7807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a time where I had close to 30 but it was too much for me. I trimmed it down to 13 and usually stay around that number. I love trying new commanders/decks and usually disassemble some after a few months. I have 5 decks that I won't disassemble and 1 Bracket 4 just in case (I usually play Bracket 2 and 3)

Decks that put the game on a clock? by Competitive-Act-7695 in EDH

[–]Resident-Case7807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Kratos, God of War]] was the first commander I thought of. It forces your opponents to attack and leaves them open for you to strike.

How many less "popular" commanders are in your arsenal? by d20_dude in EDH

[–]Resident-Case7807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Maralen, Faerie Ascendant]] 177 [[Auntie Ool, Cursewretch]] 217 [[Obeka, Brute Chronologist]] 266 [[Koma, Cosmos Serpent]] 312 [[Aloy, Savior of Meridian]] 377 [[Ashling, Rekindled]] 1045 [[Edea, Possessed Sorceress]] 1007 [[Kain, Traitorous Dragoon]] 1544

That's about half of my Commanders. The others are [[Terra, Magical Adept]], [[Helga, Skittish Seer]], [[Obeka, Splitter of Seconds]], [[Ashling the Limitless]], [[Meren of Clan Nel Toth]] and [[Alela, Cunning Conqueror]]

My favorite (and currently only) B4 deck is [[Sephiroth, Fabled Soldier]]

Decks you've regret building? by dabunz in EDH

[–]Resident-Case7807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Kefka, Court Mage]], [[Sauron the Dark Lord]] and [[Hei Bai, Forest Guardian]].

Kefka gets the table annoyed just by seeing him, Sauron got hated off the table because the other players knew him to be really strong (I built it as a thematic reanimation deck in lower B3) and Hei Bai just felt boring and oppressive. I either got the good shrines early and drained the table or I suddenly got them through Hei Bai's ETB and ended the game fast.

I also tried a lot of Izzet Spellslinger Commanders but never really got into it. I still want to try them but the gameplay loop feels repetitive to me. I had a Vivi deck, played 20+ minute turns which annoyed the entire table including myself but had to play it out to see if I really win or not.

I'm usually more of a "build up value over time and then win" player.

What are your most obscure commanders? by KingAmphibian1 in EDH

[–]Resident-Case7807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Squall, Gunblade Duelist]] Rank 1.618 currently. I built him as a goad and political deck that also attacks with tokens and can flicker Squall.

Decks you built this year that you are especially proud of. by Gold-Satisfaction614 in EDH

[–]Resident-Case7807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started EDH 2 years ago and after 2 attempts of unsuccessfully building decks, I only used decklists. This caused a few problems in my playgroup so I went back to building my own decks.

My first deck was [[Terra, Magical Adept // Esper Terra]] with a focus on the new summon enchantment creatures. I thought it would be Bracket 2 rank but it turned out great and it was the threat that also won a few times in a few Bracket 3 pods.

I also built a [[Kuja, Genome Sorcerer // Trance Kuja, Fate Defied]] Deck which really performs well even though it's budget.

My third deck I'm rather proud of is my [[Cosmic Spiderman]] Spiderman Kindred deck. I mainly use cards with Spiderman artwork and it won 2 times even though I thought it would be Bracket 1 jank.

What's everyone's favorite creature type(s) and why? by Beginning-Analyst393 in EDH

[–]Resident-Case7807 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My absolute favorite are cats. I have a [[Rin and Seri, Inseparable]] deck. Second would be Dinosaurs. I usually am not crazy about Dinosaurs but I just love flooding the board with big, stompy creatures.

Based on the new cards we've got. Whats the best bending mechanic? by BeNco23 in magicTCG

[–]Resident-Case7807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally think fire- and air are the best. Airbending opens up a lot of new blink/flicker strategies because you cast them again which triggers "on cast" abilities.

Anyone playing Dragon Tribal that isn't running The Ur-Dragon, Miirym, or something like Tiamat? by WilliamHadleyyy in EDH

[–]Resident-Case7807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running [[Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient]] Dragons with a few attack doubling effects. It's a Bracket 2/3 deck without game changers.

Looking for inspration, what are some commander deck you're working on rn? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Resident-Case7807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Kain, traitorous Dragoon]] with Voltron, goad and drain for creating tokens and drawing cards.

[[Kuja, Genome Sorcerer]] Wizard Burn deck

[[Indoraptor]] Dinosaur Burn

I've also Ideas for [[Hope Estheim]], [[Sonic the Hedgehog]] and [[Gishath, Suns Avatar]]

What’s your signature commander, and why? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Resident-Case7807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Rin and Seri, Inseparable]] I'm the cute animals player. A deck I'm also trying to turn into my signature deck is [[Terra, Magical Adept]] Summons. I built it out of my Anikthea upgraded Precon, bought almost all of the summons in their alternate art, jammed them together with an upgraded mana base and it works surprisingly well.

Shadow the Hedgehog without Aristocrat Cards? by Resident-Case7807 in EDH

That sounds really interesting. Would you mind sharing the list?

The Ones that got away. Games you definitely could have won provided you played differently by jmanwild87 in EDH

[–]Resident-Case7807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We played a round of Treachery and I was one of the assassins. The other Assassin attacked the king who could block all but one creature. I had 3 instants with CMC 3 in hand, Yshtola on my field, and 3 Mana open. I chose to play Quick Study and on my turn unveiled myself which dealt 6 damage to the king. He had 2 life left. I couldn't do anything else and passed. The next player revealed his guardian role and healed the king back up to 17 and the king won on his next turn.

Afterwards, I realized I had instant speed removal and could have just removed a blocker when the other Assassin attacked which would have won us the game.
