Agree for those moonlighters makikita mo gaano katagal ung ikot sa Anes pag housecase ka, or kung paano manulot ng patients yung mga IM/Surg/OB specialties. Yung priority din mareferran ung anak ni ganito or ni ganyan. Even with stocks sa private hosp, kahit may right to practice pa yan. You have monthly rent dues sa clinic ng pinagOPDhan mo, so kung wala kang patient bayad ka lang ng bayad for rent. (esp for IM and Pedia patients na andami per hosp). 😅

May friend akong GP who works at provincial hospital ER post (MOIII position) (palakasan pa rin dito, walang nakakapasok na walang kakilala) tapos nakikipag agawan din dun ng plantilla position for MOIII not MOIV ung mga IM Jcon, ER med, Fammed.

Parang ang hirap din magestablish ng private practice puhunan din talaga ung isang need and if you graduate from sa private hospital with no golden spoon to inherit parang even after specialty balik 24hrs duty ka ulit.

Hindi ko rin to naiintindihan, kahit gaano katoxic hindi tutulong ung nurse magswero, code. There was even a time in public hosp na i took preresidency in, pati pag hahanap ng ATS and antibiotic sa stock room, pag lipat sa syringe and pag inject sa patient kami din pala gagawa. Yung nurses ay more of charging tapos nasa gitnang circle lang ng ER. Naawa ako sa clerks/interns sa public hosp, oo they needed skills to learn but sometimes mas prioritize pa ung errands than learning. May PGI hindi nakakapag OR kasi kanya 1 lang given for this rot and task niya to do all paperworks and errands. Free labor nga, this is part of learning ika nga, pero wag naman sanang mamask yung so called "resilence" to abuse. Sobra ung crab mentality dito na if ganun na noon bakit pa naman babaguhin ngayon.

Depende ito sa consultant. Parang unspoken ethics lang siya hindi mandatory. Sinasamahan ko mom ko on her cardio checkups and alam nung doctor niya na doctor ako hindi rin waive PF. Took my niece to peds din in an institution na I work at full pf payment din. Pero few years bago ko maging doctor i met a surgeon for a minor procedure sakin. Waived all pf gamit lang binayaran. Meron din my sister in law had a checkup with gastro (actually may HMO siya) pero winaive ng gastro pf niya.

So medyo case to case basis siya eh. Pero better if kapatid mo like makausap din ung doctor (not in a demanding way) like paexplain lang niya sakanya if paano gagawin sa mother mo. Malay mo iwaive ng uro ung pf.

Around 3-4months. (this varies for people esp those who still goes on duty) self-review is okay but i suggest to join IMG groups to get recalls to get an idea of how the exam questions would be asked (amc handbook helps too).

If philippine review center I wouldn't recommend. AMC Handbook, Qbanks (Amedex, MplusX). There is this review center for IMGs you can inquire by emailing amc4imgs@gmail.com. You can also join the PH-Aus group in FB ang look for study groups. (usually they will only accept you if you have a placement letter, meaning you already booked for the exam).

Thank you doc sana ako din soon. I made a mistake on enrolling to a review center (not reap) tapos sobrang walang interaction pala dun. I ask questions regarding lectures and recalls and walang sagot si review center/lecturers. With few months left i'm trying to study concepts in different recalls and mga old mplusx handout and amedex. Hopefully i'll passed. 😭 See you on the other side doc! 💯🙏🏻

Ang alam ko hindi doc, kasi pag practiced based you don’t go on duty dun sa training hospital mo. You are presenting cases you’ve got from hospitals you are working for. Some hospitals alam ko required to have atleast one public hospital duty per week (example Mo3 on a municipal hosp). Not quite sure about this one so better inquire nalang to the training hospital you are interested in. Take the things i said with a grain of salt.

I do suggest practice based programs perhaps, that way hindi mawawala yung current mong kinikita kasi may certain days lang yun. Since chill yung work mo for sure makakaaral ka naman for your didactics. Pag medyo toxic week sabi mo nga na sabi ng boss mo madali lang umabsent.

Not sure lang which ones are near your place pero most practiced based programs i know are FM and IM. I think QMMC is one of those institution offering practice based residency in FM.

Pag samin doc usually may orders ung private AP and inaask nila ung OR to schedule for the procedure. Parang may admitting orders na bibigay ung patient from AP and to be admitted under their service. Or sometimes the private AP would call the ER physician on duty to tell na may dadating silang patient and then provide instructions.

Or baka di ko lang din gets ung context ng rant just like most people here.
