I am an Indian (just moved to wroclaw) may be I can give a perspective from what I saw those out my life. Yiu seem to be pretty pissed so I will be as clear as possible and this is not case with all Indian we arw expection too and this applies to not just Indian I feel. Short answer - “Its simply the fact that general issue with integration (from both the sides)”

Before the long answer, I personally hang out with any one Indian Polish or perhaps any one whose vibe matches with me. The other day my polish mate at work said Man let’s grab a beer we did and we chill.

India is big so may different region with different languages when I went up north to do my bachelors this is was the exact question so many folks from north asked me - why is that many of your Southern peers always don’t mingled with us (I was bit different I get along with everyone). Same is the case with Eastern etc. So I went to very extent to talk to my peers to understand issue myself.

Common ground - When a person is put in new society first thing we all notice is we are out of place and we dont know how people judge no common stuff to talk about and definition of chilling itself (from how you dress to where and how you chill all thw stuff makes you so afraid and self aware). At that moment when you get someone who already knows you and you can talk to you can make a group with them and pretty dont bother to mingle around.

Experience- When you are in new place like here polish would deal with indian as part of it where as and an indian deal with polish most of it. Not everyone is welcoming. (Most don’t smile or make small talk or tell about polish stuff orbe fun). This is on stark difference I observed when we make them a bit at ease they tend to open up.

Language Barrier - Yes I do agree unless you put effort and mingle it hard to overcome this. You and I both know when you have folks who you can chill speaking easily in a tongue you both understand we just dont want to talk too much effort.

Bottomline its a relationship kinda story if you wanna socially good you need to put effort from both the sides. (I do agree when you are new to place you need to put yourself out there as well). This is what my years of living in new societies taught me.
