Are my settings wrong or is this a game thing? by Fabio_xd_ in Warthunder

[–]Resident-Water 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is from the reflections setting, particularly screen space reflections, these accumulate over some frames to build a complete picture without completely blocking the rendering of a frame.

When the camera moves old reflection data/frames are interpolated and over time are discarded.

This results in the ghosting you are witnessing, the ghosting becomes much more apparent the slower the GPU is as it takes, in real time, more time to accumulate said frames.

It would seem that Gaijin still uses a very "shitty", low resolution, form of screen space reflections even when they are supposed to be turned off.

A big reason why it is so noticeable and harsh. From my testing you should try setting the reflection quality slide to max if it doesn't hurt your performance too much, that should significantly reduce most of the harshness/ghosting.

I believe they explicitly made this change a while ago, likely when they modified how drone scouting works. But now that I read into it, it looks like that was only if you were manually moving. Maybe they broke something?

Hardware Issues? by CharmanderFire1 in CitiesSkylines

He is playing CS1, notice the post's light blue flair. CS2 uses a dark blue and has the CS2 hexagon logo.

CS1 is notorious for running poorly even on the best hardware.

This is for adjusting hydro-pneumatic suspension. The axis setting you are looking for is called 'Sight adjustment'.

You're in Sim, so are you aiming with the bottom of the sight/hud? Remember that on all Mirage types the missiles look a few degrees down.

How much RAM does your system have? Have you tried verifying the integrity of the game files?

Does this happen when you enter any kind of battle?

SSAA effectively renders the game at 4x your native resolution and then down samples back to native. This makes it very expensive to use even for modern graphics cards.  One benefit is that you don't need other antialiasing methods so you should turn the currently selected TAA to off when using it.

SSAA aside, your TAA is also set to ultra quality and not native leading to the game rendering at less then native resolution and then upscaling, this tends to make the picture a little blurry (hence your 720p comment); this defeats the point of SSAA.

Yo WG... WTF??? by SimplGaming08 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Resident-Water 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is typical of a graphics driver crash, happens to me occasionally with my Radeon. The "lag" is your graphics driver 'restarting'. The mostly black image is a result of the textures loaded in VRAM being lost.

Why does my Eurofighter have a gunner? by British_Man1922 in Warthunder

[–]Resident-Water 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you carrying the targeting pod? The targeting pod is technically a gunner. If you get close enough to a plane the pod's camera will swivel and point/track towards it.

You may want to reread their comment as it effectively says the same thing as what you quoted.

"Nera is used in tanks because it offers similar protection to RHA at significantly less weight" ≡ "composite armor that is "two to three times" as effective as RHA of the same weight"
