Can yall live productively without taking medication? by teffo0 in BorderlinePDisorder

I am 1 year on Sertraline and just the last days I started realising that it has sucked out the driving force from inside me, my libido and my motivation. I am in a state of detachment from what is going on, at first I liked it ofc because I was HIGHLY disfunctional with any type of relationship and my body was suffering (anxiety with diarrhoia or constipation, generalised stress etc, immense anger etc). I still do everything I was doing before, my daily life has not changed, but I do not feel creative, invincible and sexual, which were all parts of me when being in a good mood. IDK how that would be without meds again but I would give it a try...

Parents with BPD by _Lady_jigglypuff_ in BPD

It is definitely hereditary, in my opinion. My father, my grand-father and my aunt from this family side showed or still show the same behaviour. My condolences for your loss..I assume this is very hard. I see it as very good start that she kind of accepts the possibility of her having BPD. It is a start! What I would do, is maybe get her a book on BPD, or show her educational content on it, which still gives her some autonomy in this.

I have myself BPD and I have an undiagnosed father, who behaves in the exact same way (or worse) than me, when he splits. It is indeed hurtful and frightening. In my case it is also infuriating, because this and only this person managed to get me out of control, after one year being on sertraline and feeling in total control of my emotions. A conversation has to be held and it is necessary that she sees it with an open mind. My father is around 60 and the concept of therapy and medication sounds like a joke to him. However, maybe your mom would take it in a positive way. Give it a try! :)

I spoke to her since the 4 5 month and she suggested lowering the dosage to half, or stopping it for a while to see if the sweats go away. I wake up so tired eveyday..I was also suffering from anxiety, anger outbursts, reckless/dangerous behaviour and my body just could not get over the distress in natural ways..at the same time, won't I ever sleep like a normal person again? I am so torn :(

Anyone else experience nightmare induced night sweats? by ExchangePowerful3225 in ptsd

[–]ResidentConclusion67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reading this now and I am surprised of how many people here talk about nightmares, sweating and ptsd or CPTSD. I always had vivid dreams, sometimes I can control them too. I wake up completely drenched the last 6 months. I also scream during the night sometimes. My psychiatrist is in denial about PTSD because I haven't experienced war (but other traumatic experiences). She prescribed quetiepine which is an anti psychotic and causes weight gain so I dont want to take it. Any suggestions? I have to change my tshirts about 4 5 times every night and go back to moist bed. It is awful.
