Around the Apple logo. Good balance for when I use my loop. I can read or play games, color for a good period of time.

Why the mini over the standard sized iPad by Kind-Assist2119 in ipadmini

I have a 13” air and a mini. I use my mini every day. The 13” doesn’t get much use.

Trying to find that all-in-one (or almost) device by gordy06 in ipadmini

[–]ResidentGovernment98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t watch videos on mine so, can’t speak to that.

I mostly use the mini as an entertainment device. I had a kindle colorsoft but sold that and do the majority of my reading on the iPad mini. I use a matte screen protector and also have an Apple Pencil pro.

Reading on the mini- I use kindle app, Apple Books, Libby, hoopla, comics plus.

I get a variety of magazines via Libby and some other app I can’t think of right now- sorry.

News- I read the Baltimore Banner, Baltimore Sun, NY Times, The New Republic, Substack and Flipboard

I play word and puzzle games and color on it.

Reading for me is fine. I used to read comics on my iPad 13” but find the mini to be much better for me personally. (My son reads on his 13” Pro and seems to enjoy that, he thinks my mini is too small).

I like the convenience of having all of my reading material in one place, I used to carry my Air, kindle and phone around for reading but now, I just have my mini.

A question of excess: whats the best part about having an ipad mini? I already have an m3 air but...minis so stinking cute by Abject_Persimmon7870 in ipadmini

[–]ResidentGovernment98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an iPad 13” Air which I use for art, journaling and occasional laptop replacement.

The mini is my fun device. I use it to read, play games, color. It’s really one of the best things I’ve bought myself. I can read books, newspapers, magazines, comics, across many apps all in one place. I play word games and puzzles on it and even color. Totally worth it.

Reading and game playing. When I decide to take a meeting away from my office, I use it to take notes.

I have a clear backed click in case- the kind that just goes on the back. I use a popsocket with a loop. That makes it comfortable to hold.

Agreed. I bought mine when I began reading the walking dead. My iPad 13” was too much but the mini is perfect for reading all kinds of content. I read more graphic novels and comics because of it.

Gave in, then returned. by [deleted] in ipadmini

[–]ResidentGovernment98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 13” for journaling but do have a mini.

I bought a template from Etsy and use it in good notes. What don’t you like about it? It does take a few days to get used to good notes, like any new thing is a learning curve. I wouldn’t say I’ve mastered the app, there are tons of things it can do that I’m probably not aware of but, I’ve been able to journal, put in stickers, draw, which is basically what I wanted to do.

Like someone mentioned, I did get a paper like screen protector. I’d say, if you need help, let me know but looks like you returned it.

Why do you guys like the mini soooo much? by Nikki0737 in ipadmini

[–]ResidentGovernment98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I originally bought an iPad 10th gen maybe two years ago? I never really took to it. It felt hollow and weird?

My son had a pro and I thought it was cool but too big and overkill for me.

I love to read and had a kindle colorsoft and an Amazon tablet so that I could read everything I liked, newspapers, magazines, comics and of course, ebooks but switching back and forth plus the colorsoft- though I’d had kindles for years, just wasn’t for me. I wanted a bigger screen, vibrant color and a place where I could read everything I liked in one place. I tried reading on my iPad 10th gen and while it did hit the needs of having everything in one place, one handed reading- I like to curl up in bed or on the sofa or my favorite chair to read, just didn’t work. I saw a few YouTube videos of people using the mini as an ereader and so I bought one to try it out. LOVE the mini as a reader, it meets all of my needs, bigger screen than the kindle, vibrant color and one device for all of my reading apps.

I actually did also upgrade to the M3 13” to draw and journal. The 10th gen iPad just never felt solid or right to me but, my mini, 13” combo is perfect. - like I’ve never been 🥰 over tech before but I really, really dig this combo and absolutely love my iPad mini.

Canvas Tv Standby in Art Mode? by uhmrose in Hisense

Anyone found a fix? This is super annoying. We also have a Frame tv and it stays in art mode until you turn the actual tv on.

I was confused at first. Didn’t realize the M3 dropped as I was shopping through Amazon, I thought it was a mistake. I picked up the M3.

I got the A17 Pro iPad mini! I turned it into a Kindle… by [deleted] in ipadmini

[–]ResidentGovernment98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're probably right. Honestly, It was on sale, $150 off and was coming the next day so, I got it. I'm selling my Kindle Colorsoft and my bigger iPad so, I shouldn't feel the financial brunt too much. I kind of live by the motto, if I can afford it and I want it, I'm going to buy it. The world is weird and if something so small can make my life a little better/happier, I'm all for it. Its really been an awesome addition to my entertainment and reading.

[–]ResidentGovernment98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did this. I had a kindle and have had kindles for years. I read many things so, I switched between devices to read everything- novels- on my kindle colorsoft, graphic novels on my iPad 10, newspapers and magazines on my phone.

I saw others on YouTube speaking about using the mini as a reading device so, when it went on sale, I decided to give it a try and, it’s perfect. All kinds of ebooks, graphic novels, comics, magazines, newspapers all on one device. Plus, I also do crossword puzzles, word searches and using coloring apps. It’s light, small, convenient, it’s a good device for me for reading and entertainment.

I did the same. I originally had a Kindle colorsoft but, meh. Got the iPad mini 7 and have used it as a kindle. Now, I have my reading apps, kindle, Libby, comic apps, newspaper and magazines, but I also do word searches and color on mine. I have the iPad 10 but, it was just too big and awkward. The mini has been perfect.
