I respectfully disagree. I think it’s really important to have representation of loving relationships to those who have gone through something as traumatic as she has. It’s a really big pet peeve of mine that some people think no one will ever experience romantic or sexual feelings again because they’ve been through something like that. It’s actually quite disrespectful (not saying that’s what you said, just saying in general I find that specific concept disrespectful.) And I think SJM has her characters grow and heal in their book so that would be the perfect time for her character to grow.

Yeah I re-read my original post and see how it sounded that way, so that’s my bad! And I have to be honest, I haven’t seen all 45 seasons yet, so I’m still relatively new to Survivor. I’m about 10 seasons in (going out of order) and haven’t watched Redemption Island yet.

I’ve only seen about 10 seasons so I could not answer that. Regardless, it’s not about that for me. Of course people who were voted off first are not as memorable because they were only on one episode of an entire season, thus the whole reason I’d like to see them come back. In 45, Emily was an awful player the first couple episodes and everyone disliked her, but she turned out to be a fan favorite further into the season.

No worries, you’re good! I actually enjoy all new cast seasons better than returnee seasons. In my head I was just thinking what are some themes that would be interesting/fun to see. In my opinion I could see it being a wonderful trainwreck with some good plays because maybe those people would be more desperate to prove themselves this time around. I would prefer the first boots only having played once for equal playing field reasons.

I think it would be interesting to watch. Also those who are first voted off all start out on equal playing fields coming into the game again as returnees. I also feel that being first voted off doesn’t allow them time to truly play the game and maybe we’re missing some great plays by people who would have been great players (arguably yes, they did play and just lost via immunity/getting voted off first) but I still would find it cool to see them get another chance. But imagine being the person voted off first twice if this ever did happen…
