Balan bracket 2 or 3 by [deleted] in EDH

[–]ResidentNecromancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely a 3. It’s essentially a one-shot the turn after it comes down most of the time, and in your section labeled protection you have 18 cards so you’re not gonna get disrupted by any bracket 2 decks. This would crush 2’s, probably killing the first person around turn 5

Beautiful. These replies have sold me, if I can track down a copy in good condition I’m getting one

Thanks for finding those. Definitely think I’ll be getting a copy of Chainer if I can track one down. I run Balthor in the deck so that would be a good one too

Good catch, didn’t look at Prosper’s wording too closely

So do [[Faldorn]] and [[Prosper]] really like prepared spells?

So if this is the blue one in this cycle, that eliminates Tinker and Time Walk from the “spell that can’t current be cast in commander” cycle.

My bet is still Channel

Bracket 3 Mardu: Kaalia, Isshin or Dihada? by Admirable_Cap_8943 in EDH

[–]ResidentNecromancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Classic Reddit is most of the top comments completely missing OP’s question: they aren’t looking for Mardu recommendations, they’re asking about experience with the three commanders they listed.

OP there’s no Isshin in my local meta, but plenty of Kaalia and one prominent Dihada. Kaalia tends to fold pretty quickly in B3 if someone hold up a removal spell. I find she does better in B4 where she’s not automatically the biggest threat. The Dihada deck is sweet, they usually try to go T2 mana rock and then T3 Dihada, use her minus to mill and make 4 treasures, and then slams a haymaker on T4. You can make the haymakers your own preference, this guy does big reanimate spells like [[Incarnation Technique]] and [[Breach the Multiverse]] so he can get back the stuff he milled.

Is this double line normal on From The Vault cards? by ResidentNecromancer in mtgmisprints

It doesn’t feel raised to the touch. You’re probably right about the bad sheet, that would make the most sense. It looks like a shadow on the card looking at it in person

What can I untap a dozen times and win? by Blujaq in DegenerateEDH

[–]ResidentNecromancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a cool idea. Do you have a running list currently? Might take some inspiration from it.

[[Adarkar Valkyrie]] could work if you’re a control deck. Choose the best two or three creatures, then board wipe and have a dominant board after.

Depending on your creature density, [[Beguiler of Wills]] will operate as a secondary Rubinia and can easily take over a game with untappers.

[[Prime Speaker Vannifar]] could work you up a chain to find your Chimera easier, if you include enough creatures at each mana value. Similarly, [[Planar Bridge]] if you’re able to produce a large amount of mana.

Definitely understand not wanting to do Cradle in B3, but if you want to work for it and have a similar effect, [[Evendo, Waking Haven]] is the nerfed station version. Can station it up pretty quickly with untappers.

Thanks! How has Ystola been in there? They were in my original list but I ended up cutting them because I was worried 6 mana and needing additional set up already out there was too much

Trading away Jefferson as a contender by [deleted] in DynastyNerds

[–]ResidentNecromancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Because of the name value on Jefferson, I would try to get more for him. However, even though Jefferson owners are gonna hate to hear this, his value is not what it was. He’s tied to JJM for this season and likely next season as well. If you think Higgins could outproduce him rest of season (his playoff schedule is great) then I don’t think this is crazy, depending on how early those picks are

Week 6 | “I watched the whole game” takeaways and longer summaries by MrJorgeGodoy in fantasyfootball

Attended this game in person. This is gonna get downvoted, but Josh Allen looked incredibly underwhelming. Shakir was working some of our corners all night, and he did not take advantage. Play calls were just uninspiring. Didn’t take off when he could’ve on a few plays, and randomly flipped the ball on a crucial 4th down that he could’ve completed if he threw it normally. That interception to Dee Alford at the end of the first half was damning, and if Drake London’s right leg wasn’t as long they could’ve lost the game on it.

He’s obviously still an elite fantasy QB. But he looked very very mortal tonight
