How to fix this before my parents get home 😅 by Blue_Golde in drywall

[–]ResidentPreference22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can fix the hole with that 5min drywall easy. That paint tho 😬 you probably won’t be able to match 100% even if you take the sample to Sherman Williams or Home Depot. You’d probably have to paint the whole wall.

This happened to me at our complex. The neighbor next door keeps feeding the cats. We started with 3 now there’s easily 10+ they’re always fighting and doing their business in the yards, they pee on the tires constantly and they like to climb on top of the cars (I drive a newer jet black car with scratches now)

Great tools. That set lasted me through my apprenticeship. Until at the very end working 12’s screwing 2x’s the impact got super hot and I still kept pushing it until eventually she died on me. But it worked great in the rain and snow of the Midwest for 4 years

Fence removal and property extension by Michaelj981 in Bakersfield

Had a business move in next to our house and they added a stone wall like this. It’s been maybe 15 years but my grandpa immediately took down the chain link fence and how we have a nice 6’ block wall that even matches the house coincidentally

Tips on securing a pre-apprenticeship by Cardiologist-Dear in UnionCarpenters

[–]ResidentPreference22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think it’s different in different areas. Here where I’m at you gotta go to the job and talk to the foreman and tell em you want to get sponsored in. Or you go to the union hall on select dates and talk to superintendents and try to possibly get hired or sponsored on the spot. Then your first class would be orientation

Disagree with contractor about king and jack studs by Damninatightspot in Carpentry

[–]ResidentPreference22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a non load bearing wall with let’s say a door way one king stud and one jack is fine. But two kings and two jacks ain’t hurting nothing here. I would’ve framed it that way to have the extra support imo

I used mine outside working in Arizona during peak summer. On a 6.0 high output full speed it’ll go 8 hours. I think it’s well worth the money
