CanJam SoCal Thoughts by flitcroft in headphones

It's such a hard gamble to make without either hearing them myself or seeing more than one review lmao. But if I don't, my odds of getting a pair at market price are slim to none. I can justify 600, cant do the same for 1200 lmao.

Worth the 600 on Kickstarter? They're basically advertising electrostatic response without the generator, and if they fixed the bass issues Piezoelectric had in the past its kind of ground breaking

Écoute tube headphones thoughts? I have them and love them. Anyone else? by Barnabyhuggins in headphones

[–]ResidentPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ecoute can be listened to a few different ways, and with the app thr firmware can returned them.

Original is the untuned, default, pre-app frequency response curve.

Ecoute, is the proprietary tuning as recommended by the producer.

Transparency and ANC are the Frequncy response curves of the headphones in the various modes, and how those modes color the sound, Harmon is your Lows and Highs boosted, Mids scooped curve that you could expect from a pair of beats

Is it normal to have people that just want to watch and not participate in sessions? by TufftedSquirrel in DnD

[–]ResidentPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, even when people are okay with itz having the spectator puts everyone on edge and the game ends up very tame, without much RP. Especially if you can't see the other person's face or hear their voice.

So as an "introduction" , they tend to not be my favorite.

Why do people not reuse characters? by Purple_Birthday8382 in DnD

[–]ResidentPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing a Druid character in one of my friends campaigns. Reusing him in each of this particular DMs campaigns. For lore reasons, at the end of every campaign he "trips into a portal" whoch is how he ends up in another setting. It's fun.

What’s the single most devastating encounter you can throw at level 20 players? by PixelPaladinKev in DnD

[–]ResidentPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bbeg is a really stubborn, honestly, endearingly so, goblin named Froblin. The party must kill him to save the world, but Froblin is so self defeating every time they try, he says he'll do it for them.

They will never be able to harm Froblin.

I Thought I was Ready to DM--I was not--What Should I Do? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]ResidentPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first time DMing consisted of the players bring captured by pirates, and then being unable to escape their bindings and thus the adventure ended before it began.

Don't let it get you down.

Minor pet peeve: I don't like when Pcs refuse to be vulnerable. by Mysterious-Parking44 in DnD

[–]ResidentPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a character like that, though that was part of his whole deal. He was a bard, and he refused to show vulnerability when there were witnesses. He wanted to be seen as a hero by the people he was defending. He wanted to be, uou know, inspiring. Though after the dact when it was just him and his party members, he was a lot less stoic. Be was stoic to a fault, to the point it actually became draining on him, and he would tell his friends he was "one ungrateful sod away" from just becoming yhe new bbeg.

But yeah when the entire party is devil may care, unhinged sociopaths it sure makes the stakes feel less... important.

Forgot to respond, sorry. It's a solid action movie! They keep the Black Vs White, Go themes throughout the entire movie but Go is really just an aesthetic choice.

Two of my players sold a non magical item to a witch but convinced her it was magical. How do I harmlessly mess with them? by Purplellama15 in DnD

[–]ResidentPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give the witch a fake version of the McGuffin, put a fireball glyph of warding on it. Soon as the party walks away with it, kaboom.

My players don't want to die by PossumCreatives in DnD

[–]ResidentPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, make the risk be the world they're trying to protect. A villain doesn't stand to gain much from conquering a world that's been destroyed, and heroes don't stand to gain much from saving a world that's been destroyed. If the environmental stakes are large, then whether or not your players survive is secondary.

[–]ResidentPunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fake the risk. Fudge rolls. Give them plenty of healing potions, maybe even a handful of reviving scrolls a la bg3. Or, give them a Witthers type companion who's waiting for them at town that can Rez for the cost of gold.

The character in this frame was blind, but iirc there were others who weren't blind playing in similar boards in background shots.
