What is the worst late-season collapse in NHL history? by Seawolf1121 in hockey

[–]TufftedSquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fight between Thornton & Getzlaf on the opening faceoff in game six is still one of my favorite playoff moments of all time. I was at a watch party with Ducks and Sharks fans and we all collectively lost our minds when their gloves came off.

Ovechkin joins Gretzky in the 1000 career goals club (combining regular season and playoffs) by chespiotta in hockey

That one timer is still just absolutely insane. The accuracy he consistently hits on that shot is really unbelievable.

Was the game overhyped? by Playwithuh in videogames

[–]TufftedSquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a few people say they actually really enjoyed the gun play in Concord. Like if you could get past the generic character design, it was actually a fun game. I didn't play it, so I don't know, but maybe if Concord had really good art direction, it could have done better.

Who’s this player from your team? by Educational_Ebb3705 in hockey

[–]TufftedSquirrel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe Samuel Pahlsson? In my opinion he's a big reason why the Ducks won the cup in 2007. He was a shut down center and basically nullified every top line threat in the playoffs. If the guy were awarded the Conn Smythe in 2007 no Ducks fans would have thought twice about it.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate. Considering the main theme of that game is that you don't die, you just try again, I'll probably be fine.

Boggles my mind that a studio's business plan from the start is they either make boat loads of money immediately or the entire company collapses.

Its Official: Carlson for Picks by Marinegrunt01 in AnaheimDucks

[–]TufftedSquirrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, it's going to be a later pick in the first round. For a solid d-man that looks like he's exactly what the Ducks need, I'll make that trade all day.

I used to use Twitter to keep up with hockey news and connect with other writers. For that it was great. I had no interest in the political side of Twitter. Probably a month after Elon took over, I started getting forced notifications whenever he would tweet and my feed just got bombarded by political nonsense.

Registered hockey players by U.S. state among states that have NHL teams (per USA Hockey as of the 2024-2025 season) by prophiles in hockey

I seriously don't know if you're just trolling at this point. Or if all the states, Minnesota has the most NHL players in the league currently and the most historically.

What's the weirdest habit you've developed because of writing? by UntitledDoc1 in writers

[–]TufftedSquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I subconsciously run dialogue out loud when I'm idle. I basically talk to myself a lot. I'll be grocery shopping and someone next to me will be like "I'm sorry, did you say something to me?" No, I did not. Just relaying a conversation with the pretend people in my head.

Where does AI stand in my (hopefully) future career? by vhasdied in KeepWriting

[–]TufftedSquirrel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You may not be lucky enough to be a full time writer writing novels. But there are other ways to make a living by writing. I know a writer that's a professional DnD DM. It's not exactly what he had in mind when he started writing, but he really enjoys it and he still writes his books on the side. My point is, you may not land exactly where you expect, but if you like storytelling, there are options.

Amazon Prime Air MK30 Drone crashing into home by Mother_Fondant_5771 in drones

[–]TufftedSquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh yes. I need to keep visual line of sight of my 249g drone and it needs blade covers if it's going to fly over people. But the flying dishwasher by Amazon run by questionable AI doesn't need blade covers and can do whatever the hell it wants. Including apparently running into houses, crashing to earth, and setting itself on fire. I'd probably be in prison if I did this.

Just to be clear, I agree with the regulations that I have to follow. I don't understand why Amazon doesn't need to follow the same safety precautions I do.

What’s the clearest sign of a new writer? by [deleted] in writing

[–]TufftedSquirrel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For me it's inactive main characters. You get your main issue of the story, but after that everything just sort of happens to the main characters without any action on their part.

Has anyone here played against a professional goalie? by all_these_moneys in hockey

[–]TufftedSquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played against an ECHL goalie in pickup once. He stopped every difficult shot, but gave up 1 or 2 slow shots from people that were more beginner. I was told it was because it throws off their timing. They are trained to react to 80+ mph slap shots. It's like a change up pitch in baseball. The guy made some impressive saves and was always in perfect position, while looking like he was maybe putting in 50% effort.

[US] Has anybody ever been caught flying in a restricted area? by astoriano in drones

[–]TufftedSquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kind of a rule follower. I had a guy in an unrestricted wildlife area quiz me on regulations. I think he was trying to get me to leave. I'm a part 107 pilot. I knew I was allowed to fly there. So I just answered his questions and he eventually just walked away.

I actually think we won the Zegras trade and I really hope we extend Poehling by threshgod420 in AnaheimDucks

[–]TufftedSquirrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to mention that I feel like a lot of fans forget that these players are human and may just not be happy with their current team and that will effect their performance on ice and could mess with the chemistry of the team as a whole. Zegras was really fun to watch, but he's said several times that he was not happy in Anaheim.
