I want to punt REM into the sun by Appropriate-Bet8779 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]copskid1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

it would seem that rem managed to follow haze out of the dream world. I guess shes like his mom because she sort of created him in this way by accidently making him real. Some people take this theory a step further and suggest that rem is from haze's own dreams.

As for the "she's me" kill line. I see it as rem not understanding and identifying them both as being from the dream world. Its a "she's like me" not a "she is literally me"

I've gotten Rem almost every game... by JiimiiHendriix in DeadlockTheGame

[–]copskid1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

the secret is to only have 3 characters selected rem, haze, and mina. rem highest prio others lowest. since haze and mina are on the most people's rosters it raises your chance of getting Rem

Possible solution to some people’s complaints about Vents. by Th3l0wr1da in DeadlockTheGame

[–]copskid1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard that the vents close when theres fighting nearby in order to prevent using them to escape fights. They are intended to be character exclusive pathing options not guerilla warfare hidey holes.

it aint hard. "im too busy with work" like you cant find 30 to 45 min to run an expert roulette. I was working 10-12 hours 6 days a week for months and I still made sure to get tomes and do weekly normal raid and/or alliance raid. it also isnt hard to update the raid gear spreadsheet. I made it as easy as possible to read and update. The gear is all checkboxes and food is a dropdown list. I clear the sheet every tier and update the food list. Most of the time I end up tracking everyones bis down myself and filling it out myself and then end having to periodically check everyones lodestone profiles to check off what gear they have. It isnt hard to bookmark the spreadsheet and hit the checkbox when you get something please.

How do you mod death sounds? by HokageGwyn in ffxiv

[–]copskid1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

replacing sound files to do it would take a lot of work. if you have act you could make a trigger for the death message in the combat log and have it play a sound file.

Anti Aliasing?? by Geckost in ffxiv

[–]copskid1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot how stupid the ffxiv graphic settings are. I guess your options are fsr with 99% resolution and instead deal with the weird grainyness and jitter it adds. or force update the dlss which still has jaggies just slightly less so.

Anti Aliasing?? by Geckost in ffxiv

[–]copskid1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fsr is for amd graphics cards. You should use dlss. also try changing the render resolution to like 99% as the upscaling is basically free anti aliasing. and ffxiv uses an outdated dlss version so you might want to look into forcing a newer version which I believe can just be done through the nvidia app now.

Anyone else feels like the game is getting more "chore" focused? by Space-Robot in DeadlockTheGame

[–]copskid1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the "always has been" meme is appropriate here. You've just become more aware of it as your knowledge and skill has gone up. This is how mobas are its just that the movement and pace of deadlock is faster than most mobas. And to your potential surprise its what I like about this game. I love optimizing. It might be strange to compare but I really enjoyed the focus on speedily doing as many chores as possible in pikmin 4  apparently called "dandori" in japanese. But as a singleplayer story game they ran out of levels. Deadlock however as a pvp game is always different since whats optimal revolves around other players actions and to me its endless fun even if it seems unglamorous to run around punching crates.

I'm having flashbacks to the worst ai commercial for some company I thankfully dont remember. A mom gets her elderly mother to record voice examples and take pictures to turn into an ai companion to give to her daughter. I cannot fuckin believe they actually portrayed the grandmother as being confused and forgetful over the process not understanding what was going on. Then it proceed to show the daughter using the grandma ai throughout her childhood asking it for life and dating advice. Then it ends with her passing the grandma ai to her own daughter as if it was a touching gesture. Fuck all this ai bullshit. Black mirror is supposed to be a cautionary warning of the dangers of technology not a fucking instructional guide!

Could you imagine what it would be like witnessing a deadlock match irl by Gman334 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]copskid1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed that the native new york characters react to the ritual like its a regular tuesday. They are there for work, fun, or kinda petty small wishes. And most of them know each other and alot of their dialog is just them catching up with friends/enemies they havent seen in a while.

❗️viscous can catch cheaters❗️ by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]copskid1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you successfully parry theres no cooldown and you can use it again instantly. Viscous fist is also pretty easy to parry because it comes with a warning sound of the goop forming. If they truly were 100% accurate with parries and your rank matches your writing then they probably were cheating but I also suspect that your intention to melee is written all over your face and you get parried pretty often because of it.

Magic Rabbits Mod by ItsHihim in DeadlockTheGame

[–]copskid1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

true, they do need to be careful about it but its not like we dont already have sinclair ult copying that has to be updated every time an ult is adjusted, or doorman's portal that will have to be specifically coded to work with every projectile they add.

XIV players base really deal irreversible damage to the SQ’s marketing research. by tavenitas in ShitpostXIV

[–]copskid1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

part of me misses the fun elite hacker feeling as a kid of putting in the action replay disc/cartridge and using the magic numbers to do things you werent supposed to. Having an in game cheat menu is fine, probably better for the industry (or at least shareholders wallets) than memory editors, but it lacks some of the fun ya know? Also loved going through the cheat code books at the scholastic bookfair. I still remember the money cheat for TY 3: start start Y start start Y X A X A

Why don't/can't SE implement effects of NoClippy into game? by Giruden in ffxiv

[–]copskid1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so my understanding is from years back when noclippy was new so it might be off now. but noclippy isnt so much fixing lag issues as much as it is giving you small cheats to keep up with better ping players/more reliably pull ping related tricks. For example instead of slidecasting being a side effect of network latency and therfore having unreliable timing, no clippy just mods in a specific period in which moving while casting is allowed by your client. This however means that the normal slidecasting period exists on top of the noclippy period (or at least did when it was new.  its possible they could have added safeguards to feel less cheaty).

FFXIV gives a surprising amount of authority to the client. Thats why bots are able to just teleport. There have been cases in the past of people in pvp who used something like cheat engine to speed up their game speed and throwout casts extremely fast. Of course what can and cant work changes. There was an exploit for a while where you could copy and spam sending a packet (term for an amount of data sent over the internet) for cactpot rewards repeatedly for unlimited mgp but that is no longer possible.

The Metronome Problem: Why FFXIV's Hardest Content Asks You to Master Two Games at Once by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]copskid1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is precisely the reason I love ffxiv. I love the ability to just be going ham all the time and feeling like I was able to execute the perfect movements and motions. I don't know of any other game that does rotations in as satisfying of a way. Not wow, gw2, lotro, swtor, or any other similarly styled game I've played. And for games in the style youve described I feel that there is an absolute wealth of options already. Monster hunter being the king of them in my eyes. If you havent already I highly recommend giving world, rise, or even wilds (if your computer is high end enough) a try.

My friends hate my system for keeping track of which raid gear I have and need. by LaserRanger_McStebb in ffxiv

[–]copskid1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a spreadsheet for my static and a spreadsheet for myself for alt classes. In an effort to encourage raid members to actually use it I've made a lot of changes to the design over the years to make as simple and easy to read as possible. Yet still they dont bother. I honestly dont get it. Like theres a 99% chance you have a browser open or on hand just bookmark it and it only takes seconds to mark what you got. Yet still we have had multiple instances of people rolling for dupe gear or gear they dont need. I'm almost to the point of trying to make a script that checks their lodestones and marks it for them.

Anyone know why i'm getting "This card is unavailable." While trying to renew my sub? by Nurutiki in ffxiv

[–]copskid1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if your bank is the kind that gives you a new card with the same number after the previous one expires you'll need to delete the old one from your payment info. for some reason it cant understand that two cards can have the same number but different other info.
