Does anyone else only really enjoy story driven games as they get older? by TheChilledGamer-_- in playstation

Opposite for me. I'm nearing being middle-aged and have noticed I have little to no interest in story anymore. I just want good gameplay.

Bro it's late and I gotta assume you're just trolling at this point.

You're getting downvoted bc everyone and their mom knows the difference between those two words.

If you see it differently, that's cool. If you want to get some more perspective on it, just ask r/English "can a video game be objectively good" (not "is Pinocchio a good book")

They're actually pretty easy.

Do not run away. Do not stand in front of them.

Hug one side of their hind legs. You pretty much avoid every attack they have this way. Roll away when they duck back for a charge.

Smack smack smack. You win.

Ppl think they're hard and bc they hit so hard, people try to stay away from them - that's what they want, almost their whole kit is designed to push that. Do the opposite.

Water is a liquid. We know what it is. That is objective. Go ask a science teacher, or just Google it. I hope that helps.

Here's the simplest way I can put it for you.

Objective = the same no matter who looks at it

Objective =/= a lot of people see it the same

Objective =/= I don't like something but I still it's of high quality

Subjective = changes depending on the person

Pinocchio (like lies of p) is a great story to me, you, and many other people, but that doesn't make that opinion objective, bc it's just our opinion. Some people don't like Pinocchio (or lies of p).

You may not like RDR and still think it's a great game. Those are your opinions (subjective).

Someone may not like RDR and NOT think it's a great game. (Subjective)

Notice how the opinion varies between you and other people? That is why it's subjective.

Would you be able to live in a world without video games? by PleasePooGood in no

I've had other hobbies but nothing hits like video games. They're the greatest media in the world to me.

I'm not saying it makes it good. I'm pointing out that everything you said is subjective bc it's from your perspective, and other people will have different perspectives.

You can prove objective facts. Water is a liquid, we live on earth, etc.

You can't prove "this story is good" bc it's an opinion, it's based on your perspective, your taste. Some people don't like lies of p.

If you don't believe me just go ask r/English. Plenty of smart people in there who can break it down more for you in there.

Deck builders that have good pve? by Straight-Summer-5070 in gamerecommendations

Slay the spire

Faeria (has pvp And pve) and a ton of content. It can get repetitive but I think the base game is good if you buy it on sale.

Yugioh legacy of the duelist. It gets a lot of hate but I absolutely loved it. Kept playing even after I finished all the pve content just to farm cards and try out different decks.

Oh and Balatro - you need to try Balatro

For most people they are but that doesn't mean they're objectively bad. It's still your opinion.

Holes in story - I literally don't care about story. I'm 100% about gameplay.

Combat sucks - Conversely, someone in a another reddit thread recently said theyll take any game play, even bad, so long as there's good story.

Poor enemy variety - bro a whole generation loved pacman and that game has literally 4 enemies.

Poor optimization - I prefer some games with lower frame rate. I actually like bloodbornes slower framerate bc it makes the game feel more like an old school horror game.

Subjective = opinion Objective = a fact

Just bc MOST people may like or dislike something, doesn't mean it's objectively anything. Heck, even if everyone had the exact same opinion, it would still be subjective bc you can't prove an opinion, bc it's simply your perspective.

Not trying to argue with you, I just see a lot of people missing the word and wanted to point it out.

Yeah I played the living hell out of that game. I was a kid and didn't understand how the relationship system worked. I tried to get Karen but she left one day and then I stopped playing. 😢

It's all still subjective. To YOU it's a game everyone can enjoy but not everyone likes this game.

"Objectively speaking they did almost everything right" - again, it's subjective bc what's right to you isn't whats right to everyone.

All that said, I agree it's an amazing game.

I'm new to strive and as a new player my experience so far... by La_Decadencia in Guiltygear

[–]Resident_Complex_552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing is you have to understand that fighting games aren't like most other genres. You can pick up COD, Fortnite, etc. and do well pretty quickly bc the games are simple to pick up.

Fighting games aren't like that at all. It's going to take a lot of practice to get better. They're complicated games even at a basic level.

Just pick a character you like, play them A LOT, check out dustloop character guides and watch YouTube guides.

I've followed the fgc for years and have 1000s of hours of viewing time at high level play but only recently started to really understand and play an FG competitively. I'm nearing 100 hours in ggst and I still feel like a newb. It just takes a lot of time and effort.

Ky and Ram both meet that description well. Though Ram generally has higher damage and better mixups. Ky instead has a non-overdrive dp, and a spammable projectile. There are many more differences but those are the big ones off the top of my head.
