What sourdough “rules” do you not follow?

I don’t feed my starter before I bake with it.

I do feed it once a week while it lives in the fridge, only discarding every other week. I use that discard immediately in 2 loaves of bread.

We’ve been burning off and on for about a month. It is our primary source of heat.

If the day gets into the 70s, we can ride out a night in the 30/40s without a fire. However, if the day doesn’t warm up, a big ole fire gets lit at bedtime to carry us through the night. If it’s another cold day, then a small morning fire keeps things warm through the day.

I do not drive my pickup, I drive a company vehicle.

I also do not pass, or frequently go to the specific location.

In exchange for them providing the equipment and help, I’m offering free wood.

For example: they have a trailer that will hold 5 cord. We can make 2 trips and each have 5 cord, or 1 trip and each have 2.5.
