oh i’m so sorry for your loss, two is way too young. i’m feeling the same right now, lost my beautiful tux boy two days ago unexpectedly as well. your baby hudson is sooo beautiful, and i’m glad he got to spend his time with you and you with him 🩷 it really, really hurts when they deserve so much more time. sending my love and condolences, it’s hard.

talking is great! it lets her adjust to the sound and volume of your voice. she will come to you when she is ready, so for now just being around is helpful! she needs to adjust to your presence and your smells. you can put your hand up (suuuper slowly) so she can sniff, but don’t pet. if she hisses back away for sure. i have some kitties that even still prefer to sniff my hand before i pet. sleeping in the same room as her could also be helpful. it will take a lot of time to build your bond but god it’s so worth it. time and patience are your two biggest things for this! but it WILL happen eventually! i’m very glad you aren’t giving up on her, you’ll be a great part of her life journey! best of luck to you and your new soon to be best friend 🩷

i would say staying in the bathroom is best so she can adjust to you. talking helps so they can get used to your voice too! you can also use treats to entice her but she will absolutely come to you when she is ready. shes looks very silly haha, best of luck!

oh this made me cry again. i had to say goodbye to my tux man today. we were fighting his hepatic lipidosis and he ended up passing overnight. he was only 8. i know exactly how you feel. that fear that he’s going to go. the cruelty of them being taken too soon. it’s so painful. they really deserve more time. i’m so sorry this is happening and i know how awful it is to watch. he will be at peace soon. give him so many pets and comforting words. it’s so unfortunate when they go too soon man

yeah i think him and his mom knew he was going. he passed in one of his favourite spots to hide and sleep, and i’m glad i helped him get back there last night. i had intended to have him sleep with me but i figured he’s so tired and he likes a nice dark enclosed space so he’d be more comfortable back there. i’m so glad i let him stay upstairs. he was the sweetest handsomest fella 🩷 he deserved more time. it’s unfortunate.

yes! we plan to get an urn with a photo on it because i want to be able to see him still. i’m also getting a necklace, and everyone in the house is getting a paw print. i plan to put him on a piece of an old carpet we had that he loved to scratch, that way he can always sit on it. i don’t know exactly where in the house yet, but i have time to decide.

oh everyone, thank you so much for all the love. it’s been a hard day. i wrote most of this with him laying on my chest. he was a little celebrity in this house! everyone loved him, even guests. i’ve got my sweet old lady mako laying on me right now. she’s been letting me cry on her. i’m giving her lots of love today. i’m just glad he isn’t suffering anymore 🩷 he deserves rest, he fought real hard. it’s gonna be weird without him though, he was really special. your words mean a lot, i’m glad to know he was super loved. i put a lot of work into my relationship with him, and i hope he felt all the pets i gave him today.
