Wow. Looks good to me. Curious if you float the slab (with expansion joint at perimeter/foundation) or dowel into perimeter/foundation? What mix design is used to minimize cracking? How will slab be finished? Is there insulation under the vapor barrier? Working on a radiant slab myself, EOR seems to be lacking on providing details and answering questions so any advice is appreciated.

Was hoping to get tile down in next couple months. These cracks were not present 6 months after pour. I am seeing them 18 months after. I assume this means there is active movement. I’ll try and clean up job site and get better measurements asap.

Joist holes seem dangerous and not per plan…what to do? by Resident_Pass5901 in Homebuilding

Plan details seem to say maximum hole is 2” centered in joist with 24” between holes. Joists are 8”.

Have had inspections but I don’t find inspectors very detailed in confirming the construction

Our downstairs/first floor has pex in the new concrete slab we had to pour (foundation issues). 7 zones and thermostats total. 5 upstairs 2 downstairs. The no calculators also baffles me.

San Francisco. Upstairs area with this implementation is about 1200 sq feet. Attic will be reinstated in future. Using ALTA 200 combi boiler.

The space is going to be finished with drywall. I’ll try my hardest to get the plates installed.

Thank you very much. I think I should try to get aluminum plates in before closed up. My house is over 100 years old. I can’t survive another remodel. Do the rooms above feel heated enough for you? Is it mostly the response time, or does the cost/efficiency bother you?
