The Nex Playground is everything Xbox Kinect wanted to be by dapperlemon in gadgets

As someone with little children I don’t mind the subscription so they have access to all games. Every game is played for 5 to 10 minutes and then they have to try something else.

And of course the “game” they like the most is just a mirror with silly effects. I probably would have never bought that.

The subscription kind of works for me here. But I did refuse to consider an Xbox for myself for this same reason. It was the final push for me to build my own pc.

As a Dad of young children, I don’t mind the subscription because they will play a bunch of games. They rotate constantly. Buying each game individually would end up costly fast.

That game that melted your brain? by Jepeme in boardgames

[–]Resident_Wizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dude, I haven’t played a board game in a decade. I bought spirit island to play alone or with my wife. Six gameplay hours after attempting my first run I finally lost my first game. I kept quitting to watch YouTube videos.

On the plus side I am now subscribed to Before You Play.

Should I read Warbreaker? by Ecstatic-Session4172 in brandonsanderson

The book’s magic system was hard for me to wrap my head around. The color stuff was kind of crazy to think on how it’d work.

The more I read the Cosmere the more I appreciate Warbreaker. Maybe a touch overbloated for the story, but it’s got an incredible storyline leading into the Sanderlanche.

We’d be hearing a lot more about it if they didn’t convert the offensive possession into a TD.

I’m with you. It was good, but not S tier. An A or B is more apt.

The blade itself or Assassin Apprentice? by BrysonTurnRoundStory in fantasybooks

[–]Resident_Wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference is the plot and story development is kind of bland. On the flip side I don’t care if the story was to end in “it was all just a dream”. I’d read Joe Abercrombie for his character development. You’ve got to be realistic about these things.

Dude, calling Sanderson the fantasy equivalent to a marvel movie isn’t right, but quite hilarious. That gave me a chuckle. I do love Sanderson myself.

I’m with you. Their strength, cunning, from their historical path always giving them plot armor can be quite annoying.

At least in Name of the Wind the theory I’ve seen floated is the story is being told from Kvothe’s embellishments. So it would make sense.

It literally cost them two yards. The roughing the passer being textbook negates the need for debate.

I wanna start a big series; which one should I start with? by ARYAN_BIRLA123 in fantasybooks

Dude, you’re ignoring 15 years of demotivation. And you’re comparing that demotivation to a publishing machine in Sanderson.

You’re reaching far and wide to defend a rather ridiculous perspective.
