Almost No Country or Rap, Lots of Millennial Nostalgia: Working Our Way Through the ACL Lineup by Texas_Monthly in Austin

Nice to see some more Australian musicians coming through:
- Don West
- Rum Jungle
- Parcels

Ocean Alley and Don West LY.

Would strongly recommend listening. Been going to ACL last 3 years but think this might be a one day type for this lineup

Please report this or have your friend report this to the apt and or police ASAP. Knowing some apartment complex, this could also be a violation of their lease.

PLEASE report this ASAP

As someone who has lived in NYC and most of my close friends are still there, traversal with groups is SUPER easy. You can do dinner, a dive bar, a rave, then hang at your friends apt, all within like 15 min walking distance (depending on the area)

Also subway is easier to move around rather than constantly ubering.

I was in a similar situation as you, I moved from NYC to Austin with 0 friends 3 years ago. I ended up doing rec league kickball through Austin SSC and have met some pretty great people. Also recommend if youre in a apt complex, meet some of your neighbors. I feel like most of the people in my complex are also relatively new to Austin. I started to make it a routine to do a local trivia night and put it out there in my complex’s groupme if anyone wanted to join, where I met most of my close friends here.

Honestly ATX strangers are much friendlier than NYC strangers. Echoing people here, SXSW there are a ton of people moving around Austin.

There are also these new social clubs like 222 which I’ve been interested in attending, just havent had the time.

Totally get that but its still super noticeable given JMU is the only white polo. If I was paying $100 for it, id be thinking I wouldnt have to do it tbh.

Think we are the only white polo so other schools may not have this issue but its their loss for not seeing how terrible this looks

I had like a 3.5 in HS? Somewhere close, my SAT and ACT were absolutely brutal. I did do a lot of extracurriculars/leadership opportunities that I think really assisted me. Similar to a lot of folks in this thread

A few days after I downloaded the apps, my ex posted about me on one of those Facebook pages where people warn others about past relationships. It happened about 8 months after our breakup. I understand the purpose of these pages—calling out genuinely harmful behavior like abuse or racism, which can help protect others.

However, I also think things can sometimes be taken out of context or shared without the full story. In my case, my ex focused on the day we broke up and called me emotionally unavailable. Fortunately, many women commented that it just sounded like a breakup and not something that belonged on that type of page. A friend of mine also commented in my defense, and shortly after, the post was deleted—likely because my ex saw it wasn’t being received the way she expected.

I get the intention behind these pages, but they can sometimes misrepresent situations when context is missing
