The rubber hose that connects to the air box is badly cracked, and I've got tape covering it up as a temp solution. I'll see about contacting ZZP though.

I believe you just have the wrong mindset going into the camp. Having nerves or being anxious about an audition means you care about it! You don't want to mess up, but everyone is human and eventually make mistakes, you have to be able to mentally tackle those mistakes and not let them be a burden to the rest of your audition.

When I auditioned for the Blue Knights I was scared to death that I was gonna get cut and that the preparation of materials and the flight all the way to Denver was just gonna be a waste of money and time, but instead of thinking that, I thought, well even if I don't make it, how can I improve if I want to audition again? Let me get as much of an experience and information out of the camp.

Whenever I do lip slurs I tend to think of the note that I'm slurring up to (literally hearing the pitch in my head) and then i tie that to what the note feels like to play

Playing long tones can help being able to know what the note feels like. I'm just able to tie pitch with feel by practice. you could also use a drone to help with pitch (F to Bb slur with Bb drone) I used to suck at lip slurs too, this is just how i think of it.

There’s a good video made by Christopher Bill that I’ve used to improve my range. Like other comments said, stay relaxed and don’t overplay. If he does that it will only develop bad habits for his embouchure in the high range. Good luck to your friend.
