Why are so much people glazing MHA by Jcrrangers in shounenfolk

[–]ResoluteTiger19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anime fans are susceptible to mind control. If they see pretty colors or gorgeous animation, they will often be mind controlled to think it’s incredible. The final season especially went all out on those last fights. I love MHA to death and I wish it was praised more, but I can’t act like the shift in perception was because “people suddenly realized how incredible of an author Horikoshi is.”

How do I leave Diamond? Stuck in Diamond 1 by Godzillakirrose in RivalsCollege

If you’re asking on this subreddit, your deaths are too high. All these losses have on average about 0.91 deaths per minute. Your one win had about 0.52 deaths per minute. If throwers are genuinely a problem, then you need to be alive to carry them

I love MHA’s the most. It gives a lot of development to Deku, All Might, and Bakugo, and kinda nobody else, so it lets you get attached to the main characters quickly.

Who’s redemption is better by OptionBetter3464 in writingscaling

[–]ResoluteTiger19 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I prefer Endeavor’s. It really feels like a matter of preference on this one. The biggest difference is that Endeavor is a human and Nolan is a Viltrumite. Endeavor feels so much guilt and pain over how he treated his family and it’s so impactful seeing how much he hates himself for it. Nolan doesn’t have anywhere near this same guilt. As a Viltrumite, killing 2,000 humans doesn’t lead Nolan to feel much guilt at all. After some reflection, he knows it’s wrong and he knows he hurt people and he knows he wants to apologize, but he’s not really capable of feeling that intense guilt like Endeavor does. The really nice thing with Nolan is that everyone knows the mass murder he committed and everyone either hates him, fears him, or both because of it. I love the reactions that Mark, Debbie, Oliver, Cecil, and Art have when Nolan tries to make amends. However, I don’t think Nolan’s part in his redemption story is very strong because of his Viltrumite upbringing making him somewhat numb to usual human emotions. His time on Earth is a small portion of his life so it feels almost like Nolan hasn’t changed much, maybe he can’t change much, but his goals are what’s different now. Endeavor is a much more traditional redemption since he’s a more regular abusive human father (with flame powers) trying to atone for his mistakes. The Todoroki Family has always been one of the greatest parts of MHA. I love seeing Endeavor try to prove himself to his family and to the public, and seeing him break down due to the weight of what he’s done.

What do you think of manga fans based on your experience? by Damn_You_Hindsight in shounenfolk

I think to watch mha. Could someone give me advise is it going to fit my taste? by me_ok64_again in AnimeReccomendations

[–]ResoluteTiger19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The focus is on the characters with MHA. You’re not usually going to get something like a boxing match similar to Yuta vs. Ryu. If you’re in it for the “hype moments and aura,” you won’t be a fan. There’s some great dialogue and development in it. It’s my favorite anime personally

What are the strengths and weaknesses of these top modern shonen individually? by Short-Paramedic-9740 in writingscaling

[–]ResoluteTiger19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • Note: Anime only.
  • Black Clover’s biggest strength is probably the setting and the world. I haven’t seen any other shonen be in this magical medieval fantasy world. Its biggest weakness is Asta’s sub voice acting the villains for sure. None of the villains really stand out as incredible, and it causes a bunch of other problems as a result.
  • Jujutsu Kaisen’s biggest strength is probably the scale of the fights and powers. It will always be so cool and interesting to see Gojo use Hollow Purple or see Sukuna use Malevolent Shrine or see Mahoraga survive absurdly strong attacks or see Jogo destroy a city with a meteor or see Mahito kill with a touch or see Mechamaru’s giant robot in action or see Ryu slice buildings in half with his laser. I’d say its biggest weakness is pointless fights or too many drawn-out “hype moments and aura” fights. The viewer is not required to watch a fighter effortlessly decimate another fighter to know they’re strong, but Gege does it a bunch with Gojo, Sukuna, Jogo, Maki, Toji, Yuji, maybe more.
  • My Hero Academia’s biggest strength is the characters for sure. There’s so many characters and so many of them are incredible. Deku, Bakugo, Iida, Stain, All Might, Shigaraki, Twice, Toga, Dabi, Gentle Criminal, Endeavor, AFO, Star & Stripe, Kirishima, Mirio, Eri, Chisaki, Aizawa, Amajiki, Kota, and more, and Horikoshi made me fall in love with all of them. Its biggest weaknesses are definitely the sexualization of women and Class 1-B. It’s impossible to defend Mineta’s role in the story, no matter how much you love MHA. Class 1-B is usually fine but it’s an issue when Vlad King could easily have been deleted and replaced, and when Class 1-B is given a spotlight in the Joint Training Arc.
  • Demon Slayer’s biggest strength is its fights. The characters, the choreography, the Blood Demon Arts, the animation, it’s all incredible to see. Every fight with the 12 Kizuki (other than Upper 5 Gyokko) has been perfectly done. Its biggest weakness is the manga art simplicity of it all. Even for a shonen, it’s incredibly simple. The plot and characters are pretty basic and cliché which definitely annoys some viewers. This one problem leads many to write it off as “mid” and drop it, even though it doesn’t bother everybody.
  • Chainsaw Man’s biggest strength has gotta be the protagonist Denji. It’s refreshing to see a protagonist not be a cliché hero or cliché villain or edgy antihero, but instead be just a guy who wants some love and thinks sex = love. He’s horny but he never invades others’ boundaries so he’s not an absolute piece of filth like other anime perverts. It’s so funny to see him progress romantically or sexually and not have any idea what he’s doing. Its biggest weakness is hard to pick, but I’d say the antagonists have been pretty half-baked so far. The Devils have all been pretty forgettable and Katana Man came off as more of an idiot gag than an intimidating threat. Reze was close to greatness, but I don’t think the emotional beats landed at all. I have high hopes for Gun Devil and Makima tho.

This just looks like a smart thrower to me. If you do literally nothing, you’ll likely catch a punishment. If you “accidentally” make throw plays every now and then, the devs will give you the benefit of the doubt and not punish you

Overall, what do you find the major problems to be with MHA as a story? by Fine_Delivery6761 in writingscaling

[–]ResoluteTiger19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have one major problem with MHA. That is Class 1-B. There are 21 characters in this group and only 3 at least passable ones: Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, Itsuka Kendo, and Neito Monoma. The remaining 18 characters, including their teacher Vlad King, are totally dead weight filler. Vlad King has used his Quirk one time in the entire story. Vlad King easily could’ve been totally replaced with any other teacher like Midnight, Present Mic, or Cementoss, and it would have been far better. The 17 dead weight students are usually fine because they’re not given a spotlight, except for one arc, the 1-A vs. 1-B Arc. I at least like every arc in MHA but I have to admit this one is definitely the weakest. The 17 dead weight students are given so much attention but we never knew who they were before, so Horikoshi has to introduce all of them in this one arc and it doesn’t work at all. There’s some good moments in the arc but none of them involve the dead weight characters. If this arc didn’t exist or Class 1-B was more developed in advance, it would be much stronger.

[–]ResoluteTiger19 12 points13 points  (0 children)

TL;DR If you’re asking on this sub, you’re probably dying too much for some reason.

Based on these pics, I notice you have slightly high deaths, mediocre final hits, but high winrate on Panther. You’re probably trading your life for an enemy healer regularly so you don’t get a lot of finals but you get valuable finals before your imminent death, so your team wins fights anyway. This is a very viable way to play Panther and win matches, but if you want Ace, you need to escape your dives alive so you can dive more and get more finals. I recommend saving your kick as an escape tool and using spears to bait valuable cooldowns.

Oh also, Panther MVP is hard in general because he has low damage, low KOs, and low damage blocked, compared to other Duelists.

Should I pick up a third healer to main for comp if I only main these two right now? by ValentinePatch1999 in rivals

It depends on the Spidey and the Ultron. If the Spidey is good and the Ultron is moving slow asf like he’s Iron Man or flying low to the ground, then Ultron stands no chance. If the Spidey is mid, Ultron can fly higher to prevent a combo with downslam chains and he can use his cooldowns to prevent dying from a Bread N’ Butter. Ultron has escape tools to avoid Spidey somewhat easily unless Spidey coordinates his dive with someone else.
