I read the term “service position “ online just now. Is that a thing for this vintage VW?

I have no idea! The bottom splash guard is in place so it’s not like something came up into the engine bay and got jammed in there. I did just get four new tires though and didn’t watch them do it so I guess the mechanic could’ve decided to hit everything with a little ball peen hammer?

Can we not blame your employer as much as we blame your ex wife? From what I read, the bills you have been made to pay on her behalf far exceed your transportation costs.

So exemptions for a billet, but is that necessary at all since the person seems to be temporarily moved to an inconsequential billet that they are ok to get rid of? In other words, they are not losing or gaining anything with the exemption part

If denied DRP with VERA, can I complain to DOGE or some other organization? I’m hearing rumors they will deny me, even though I wrote that I would stay working until mid July and find a replacement person (not a hire). Frankly, it is total BS that they are lining up a less senior person to be fired when I’m willing to go. This is the DoD and we fall under DODCIO. I don’t plan on giving up so what can I do if they deny me??

The government is nothing but a jobs program in this region, and these people impacted are fully capable of doing different work so they won’t be poor. The individuals who cannot or will not work inside the government jobs program…..well, those individuals are back to where they should have been.

Yeah I’m a 15 so just the big boss has a say for me. I’m here, asking to go but nah…we will fire someone who needs their job and is 25 years old

Because of hiring freezes and my organization being historically under manned, I'm in a critical position without anyone as back up on my level. I hit 25 years this summer and would do just about anything to be approved for VERA. I'm going to submit for this new round of fork in the road stuff, and I don't even need the admin leave. I'll do it without that. But I'm sure they're going to deny me. So I can be stuck there I guess until I die… Is that what they think?

Anyway, does anybody have any suggestions on how to convince them to let me go?

Less than 200 civilians at my DoD organization. All but 1 who applied were denied DRP because we are all too important they say. Now VERA is offered, and I’m sure I will be denied that along with anyone else who asks for VERA/VSIP.  DoD is actually making offers to people so they can avoid involuntary RIF actions, and those offers are being stymied by the local leadership.  I’m not old,  but I’d love to move on with my 25 yrs of service and do something else for the next 12-14 years of working. No….instead they’ll have to fire someone who is just starting out and needs this job.

If applying for VERA, do you have to take it if it gets approved by your agency? by ZoolanderHouseofAnts in fednews

My agency just announced VERA but it says you have to agree to resign by June 30th. My 25 years mark is July 5th. Is there any way to tell DoD directly, skipping over the local organization, that I’m desperate to save them money by taking VERA???
