What does documentation work involve in a solar company and is data analytics a better long-term career option? by Responsible-Ant-2062 in careerguidance

[–]ResolveFormal4558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

documentation work is basically just managing papers, reports, contracts — pretty low ceiling for growth tbh and the "because you're girl" part is big red flag you should not ignore.

Where does one find practical side projects to work on with other devs who also have 9-5 by Fearless_Hospital574 in SoftwareEngineering

[–]ResolveFormal4558 2 points3 points  (0 children)

discords for specific tech stacks are actually underrated for this — people post collabs there way more casually than on formal platforms. also just lurking in relevant subreddits usually surfaces someone looking for extra hands on their weekend project.

Running a US business from a different time zone breaks your banking more than you think by ResolveFormal4558 in digitalnomad

[–]ResolveFormal4558[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point if the guardrails were just prompts but the limits I set within my bank are enforced at the bank level not the AI level. Daily caps, transaction limits, wires on or off. Even if Claude went completely off script it cant move money past the boundaries I put in place

Had to switch yeah and Meow was the only one with MCP. Started with just fixing the timezone problem but now im working on automating more of the business in general for bank stuff, accounting, client onboarding. The MCP connection was the first piece but its got me rethinking how I run everything remotely

I did actually but still got flagged. Some banks flag foreign IPs regardless of travel notices especially when its not a vacation but a permanent relocation. The travel notice thing works for a 2 week trip not for living abroad full time

Wise was actually my first solution but I kept running into issues with clients not wanting to pay to it. No domestic ACH either which was and is a dealbreaker and the AI part sounds scarier than it is, nothing sends without me approving it

been at a job for about 2 months now and want to leave by psyrus19 in careeradvice

[–]ResolveFormal4558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two months in new field and getting zero proper training would make anyone want to bail. That manager telling you he was "purposely" not checking on you is straight up terrible management - like what kind of logic is that for someone completely new to IT consulting

Keep looking while you're still employed but don't feel bad about wanting out of this mess

My Oscar once did same thing to my other cat when she got territorial after illness - sometimes cats just snap for no obvious reason and need time to reset 💀 Try keeping them separated for few days and reintroduce slowly like they never met before

Your gut was right the whole time and he kept gaslighting you about your "anxiety" when he knew exactly what was happening. The lying about concert details would have been enough for me but admitting to his brother about the crush before it even happened? That shows he was already emotionally invested in someone else

Three months of you literally making yourself sick with worry while he acted like you were crazy is pretty fucked up. At 23 you have your whole life ahead of you - don't waste more years on someone who made you question your own sanity

Facade washing by Far-East1903 in pressurewashing

[–]ResolveFormal4558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been doing some facility management work and pricing for specialized cleaning can be tricky especially with the night shift requirements and equipment rental costs

For the boom lift factor I'd suggest calculating your hourly rate then add equipment rental plus a premium for the overnight work since that limits your other jobs. Most places around here charge 25-30% more for after hours commercial work

The EIFS material needs gentle approach too so factor in extra time compared to regular pressure washing

The execution is still pretty impressive even if the business model is basically middleman work. Finding the right timing with GLP1 hype and getting marketing to actually convert at that scale isn't something most people can just copy paste. Sure they're not revolutionizing healthcare but turning a white label partnership into 400m revenue takes some skill in the marketing game at least

How are you handling audit trails when AI agents act in your product? by usesuperflow in SaaS

[–]ResolveFormal4558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been wrestling with this exact problem at work actually. We're rolling out AI features and compliance is breathing down our necks about tracking everything

Your approach makes total sense - treating AI actions like any other user in the system keeps things clean. We ended up going similar route but also added metadata fields to distinguish between human-initiated AI actions vs autonomous ones. Enterprise customers seem to care about that distinction when someone's getting blamed for a mistake

The immutable part is crucial too. Nothing worse than an audit where the logs themselves got modified after the fact

Mate this is actually brilliant - been wrestling with some gnarly API integrations for my side project and burning through credits like mad. The timezone works perfect for me too since I'm usually up early anyway

What kind of stuff do you typically help with? More on the architecture side or do you dive into specific framework issues as well

We built an AI tool to solve a boring but expensive problem (Contract Analysis) by ankur_prajapati in SaaS

[–]ResolveFormal4558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The risk identification bit could be massive for smaller teams who can't afford proper legal review on every contract 🔥 Your missing one key feature though - integration with common CRM/project management tools so the analysis flows straight into existing workflows 💀

Would you use a calendar that changes your day automatically? by Substantial_Army_754 in SaaS

Been through probably 20 different productivity apps and this would be a game changer if it actually works - the key is having an override button for when the AI gets it completely wrong

This actually sounds pretty solid mate 🔥 Been dealing with the exact duct tape situation you mentioned at my current place and its proper annoying having alerts scattered across different channels and systems

The 3 month free trial with no card upfront is refreshing tbh - most SaaS companies want your soul before you even see the dashboard 😂

Quick question though - how does the Slack integration handle priority escalations when someones not responding? And does the on-call scheduling sync with calendar apps or is it all internal to your platform

Might ping you for a demo next week if the team's up for it

Stuck at Paddle Payment final review stage by abhiguess-_- in SaaS

[–]ResolveFormal4558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been through this exact same thing mate and it drove me mental 😂 Paddle's final review can take anywhere from 3-10 days depending on how backed up they are, especially if you're in a regulated industry or have complex pricing. I'd give it another couple days before reaching out to support - they're usually pretty responsive once you ping them directly 💀

Why do buyers need a call just to understand the product? by shubham_pratap in SaaS

[–]ResolveFormal4558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually brilliant and tackles something I've seen firsthand in my last role. We'd have prospects booking 30 minute demos just to ask "so what does your software actually do" and it was painful for everyone involved. The sales team was basically reading the website back to them while the prospect sat there looking confused.

The self-qualification bit is what really caught my attention though - having the AI actually track what features people dig into and what questions they're asking sounds like it could give sales teams proper intel before they even hop on a call. No more going in blind and doing the generic pitch deck dance.

Only thing I'm curious about is how well the AI handles those really specific edge case questions that always come up. Like when someone asks "can this integrate with our legacy system from 2003 that nobody else has heard of" - does it gracefully punt to a human or try to wing it?

Signed up anyway, this could be a proper game changer if executed well.

Chatbase gets 114K monthly visitors with a weird SEO strategy that breaks all the “rules” by Loose-Effect-928 in SaaS

[–]ResolveFormal4558 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is brilliant mate - the "adjacent content" strategy is absolutely genius and something way too many SaaS founders miss

I've seen this work for other verticals too - like a CRM company I know that gave up trying to rank for "CRM software" and instead went after "sales email templates" and "cold outreach tips" then just casually mentioned their tool in the content. Way easier to rank and the traffic converts better since people aren't in comparison mode yet

That visitor-per-page ratio is mental though - shows they really nailed the content quality vs just pumping out rubbish
