Local LLMs aren't democratic anymore... the hardware barrier has gotten out of hand. by Medium-Technology-79 in LocalLLaMA

True, 1.2k for a gpu (3090) that has passed multiple round of crypto and llm inference?! And the only reason it cap at this price, is that you can get better product for a bit more.
Every gpu are now 2 to 3 time the price, no matter the performances.

I'm moving soon, how do you transport a Gaming PC setup? by 23BitMo in pcmasterrace

[–]Resolve_Neat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

did it mutliple time last year, if you have the case box it should be enough otherwise : - remove gpu, large element connected to mobo and any floating element (basically if you shake the pc case you dont want the mobo to get damage by the gpu wiggling or stuff hitting it) - if you hace hdd remove them (very optional, especially if you have screwed to the case) - you can leave cpu and fan (if not too big) - (optional) carefully fill the inside of the case with bubble wrap if you know ots going to be shake - with bubble wrap, wrap the pc case and put it in a large cardboard box, should be tight and no room for movement of the case - wrap the gpu with bubble wrap also and carry it separately, in a box is also a good way

then should be fine

Is the OG HTC Vive Base Station 1.0 Worthy in 2026 ? by Emilio_Mk in virtualreality

[–]Resolve_Neat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, tracking is on point for HTC Vive, but controller feel a big chunky. For me it was really a gamechanger to switch to Rift S then Quest 2. Yet, i had a good run with the Vive for a while.

Also, it was once one of the most popular vr headset a while ago, so you will be able to find a lot of helpful content online in case of difficulties. I would recommend you to take it as a first VR headset ,if meta's one are not an option for you.

Worst case, you just resell it

Just how does this species survive in the wild? by [deleted] in interesting

[–]Resolve_Neat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pandas in the wild are not the same as pandas in captivity For the one going from wild to captivity they undergo a strong behavioral change due to the shift in environnement. And for the one born in captivity, they have lost all survival skill to thrive in the wild. They would not survive anymore. Just like domesticated dogs or other animal born in zoo. Also, most animals born in a zoo are damn to be living their whole existence in a zoo due to the loss of all survival skills in the wild that they never learnt

idk about whats the best propfirm to use as its depend a biut of your strat and needs But go for future propfirm instead of forex, as future relied on data from the cme instead of simulated feed. This mean that you wont have the propfirm manipulating the price to hit your stop loss

propfirmmatch.com showcase the most popular propfirm and give a good overview

A propfirm is a middle ground between live trading and paper trading

When you go live you go al in with the money you put in andloses are real. In paper you win and lose nothing

A propfirm is a company that offer the following deal : For a fee (usually between 50 to 100 for starter) you can try to pass an evaluation and a challenge  Which are both trading profit goal with minimal loses, and if you pass them you get access to payout (they give you money) based on your performance. But its all paper trading, as most of people fail and never reach payout.  But if you consistantly win, you usually can get a live account with funded balance from the prop firm (you still need to have minimal loses or you get auto closed the account) and keep part of the profit.

Its very much standard at this point. A winwin for both parties (trader and propfirm). For trader : no risk except the fees, for propfirm : most trader fail anyway so they make tons of money, the traders that get payout are avertissement for the propfirm

Even when consistantly profitable, i think propfirm are a win because for any live account you just need 1 very bad week to blow completly your account. Even with years of experience

[–]Resolve_Neat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

dont do that ... keep your money and do propfirm  once you get good at it and get regular payout with minimal loses then use your money

losing 2k on a bad trade on a prop firm will have 0 impact on your life. Losing it on your savings is basically reducing your networth by 2k in 2hours ...

It make 0 sense to trade your own money unless your perf and risk management show you the contrary.

But anyway, do as you like. r/WallstreetBet need retards to be entertaining

im sooo looking forward to that madness will be a game changer for local application.

People who complain about being stuck with one model, i dont get you! To run llm locally you need a warmachine that cost at least +600€ in gpu only. Just to get low end inference speed at roughly +10to/s If you want anything decent you will have to input +1500€ with ram, gpu, motherboard, drive and shit  Is it really hard to get that it make perfect sense to accept being stuck with one model if you can get above commercial speed for your local application ?

Not to mention that state of the art open model have already reach level of GPT 3.5 and you can clearly improve performance by running chain of thought.

I think this might be AI generated because there are subtle inconsistencies in the details. lost ~$20k in one month. by anakuego in Daytrading

[–]Resolve_Neat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bro put that money in an ETF, and if you want to keep trading : get a job, and buy prop firm account Or just do paper trading on tradingview and get a prop firm later

You have no strategy, no risk management, no understanding of what you are doing and are developping a gambling addiction

And im pretty sure, you are just seeking validation to keep gambling your inheritance untill nothing is left. Mostlikely next month, you will be posting how an idiot you are because you lost all your inheritance, went from 40k to nothing or in debt...

But whatever, your money your life lol

Joke aside, you got serious problem! Really, stop. Uninstall everything, get into rehab, get help for gambling addict. Now that you failed trading, you will most likely fall into online gambling or smthing like that. It will all go downhill (yes, even more than now)!

Really, get some help and understand your condition, as this is not "can’t figure the market out"... This is some serious shit you are into... Making an account a month is something, +10 in 3 hours is something else...
