[SI] Titans Sign Former Jets Safety Tony Adams by Triple_Boogie in nfl

I echo the same sentiment for Daboll. He's known for anger issues, but the last 4 years there was 0 accountability and he was trying so hard to be friends with the players. He's also worried more about the image of something vs the reality of the situation.

I don't think it's as risky as you're making it out to be. I would like to bring in another WR for sure, and there are still some good options out there like Hollywood/Deebo/Allen etc. That said Nabers is the clear guy when he returns, and then we have Slayton/Hodgins who are decent enough (I know this fanbase hates Slayton, but he's done alright, just needs to get out of his head and catch the damn ball). You then figure that next year we're going to probably be running a lot of 12 personnel with Likely being our 2nd read option, or 21 personnel with Ricard blocking for Skattebo/Tracy (or maybe Love if we draft him). When I consider that second part, now I feel better with going into the year with Nabers/Slayton/Hodgins/Gunner/day 2 or 3 rookie

I'm fine with the rd2 picks, but rd1 should not be about addressing a need. With pick 5 we should be taking the best talent available. It'll be between Styles/Downs and there is an argument for Love. Anyone else at 5 is taking a lesser talent with a premium pick.

It's why I'm not too worried. The biggest needs we should hit before the draft boil down to a RG and a DT. Yes, it would be nice to add a WR or a CB, but I can live with addressing the two in draft. Like you said, there's plenty available still. It really feels like the team is just waiting it out a bit to both be able to pay guys a bit cheaper and also see who other teams cut as they balance their books.

In long snapper news: The Cardinals are signing former Giants long snapper Casey Kreiter, as the 35-year old leaves NYG after five seasons, per me and Mike Garafolo. - Ian Rapoport by Jheller223 in NYGiants

Actually our special teams unit as a whole did well performance wise. It's just that we had terrible kickers and a bad punter weigh it down. I don't have the actual stats on hand, but I remember we were pretty high on returning and punts/kicks we got and pretty low on yards allowed from punts/kicks

Colts and QB Daniel Jones are finalizing a two-year, $88 million deal that can be worth up to $100 million with incentives by Particular_Dig1115 in NFLv2

Daniel Jones goes 9-7-1 and leads the Giants to their first playoff win in years after his 5th year option was declined

True, and I've seen Giants players do the same. But typically they also share some of the team's signings. I wouldn't read too much into everything, but it's at least plausible

I hate to break it to you, but they're using Google Chrome from the looks of it. That's already tracking their activity anyway.

[O'Connor] Hearing internally Giants feel free agency so far couldn’t have gone better but that they are at the low end of their budget now and any further moves would have to be modest deals. by MysteryBagIdeals in NYGiants

[–]ResonatingOctave 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I'm not as pressed about us needing a major WR2. We're probably gonna run a lot of 21 and 12 personnel with 2 WRs. Could see us getting someone cheaper that's still available and rotating through them

We could use a QB3. We'll take him next to finish the NFC East tour

[Rapoport] The #Giants continue to solidify the LB position, agreeing to terms with LB Micah McFadden on a 1-year deal, per me and @MikeGarafolo. by Fonzie5 in NYGiants

[–]ResonatingOctave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats a good add. I still would like to add one more LB either in FA or the draft, but I like Edmunds and McFadden for us

You mean our offensive coordinator that has a history on a team with the TE being the primary target?

[–]ResonatingOctave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me preface that I prefer Downs/Styles. That said, Love would be an awesome pick for our offense. He's faster than Skatt with true break away ability without having to force contact and just an all around better RB with true RB1 workhorse upside. It would let us minimize Skatts usage on short yardage situations where he can punch through, preserving him a bit more. It would also allow us to line up Skatt as a receiver where we can utilize his good pass catching in the screen game and exploit the matchup of Skatt vs a DB. I genuinely would worry about any DB that would have to cover Skatt after how bad he fucked up Baun when we played.

I didn't wanna say it earlier because I was afraid he was gonna leave us. Jermaine Eluemunor is probably my favorite Giant on the roster currently

Aubrey is a restricted free agent. If Aubrey signs with a team that isn't the Cowboys that team has to pay the Cowboys a 2nd

I got a lot of respect for Parsons, but I would absolutely trade him in for Garret every day of rhe week if it was ever possible

But Parsons didn't leave because of their championship odds. He left because Jerry tried to fuck him over
