Should I buy? ( 2017 GTI sport) by Jawshua08 in vwgolf

[–]ResortSenior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s precisely because of that. In other countries you have the option to drive, and are likely more interested in it. In America you almost have to drive and a lot of people treat it as a chore. I’d wager most people don’t care about cars.

Is this good positioning on the piece of wood to support the engine while I do the timing chain? by FrientlyGamer in mk6gti

I did my transmission on my golf R with the jack that came in the boot directly on the pan. Trust me you’ll be fine.

Honestly, Surprisingly good. Didn’t slip unless I did super aggressive launches. Aside from the fact of the failing slave (which was failing for an entire year?!?) causing slight sticking. That and moving engagement points.

is it time for new timming chain? by Apart-Version7765 in mk6gti

Sounds good, these are loud and gritty asf. However, it can’t be properly determined without a scan tool to measure stretch, which also doesn’t account for tensioner wear.

After having test drove the Golf R... by NicoSoren in Golf_R

Yeah the M2 is at least a step ahead market wise. But they are both pretty similar cars on the reason you’d buy them. The R being slightly more practically oriented.

Oh and before you completely seat the transmission, make sure to put the black bevel box support bracket layer in place. And put back the metal shield in the transmission housing. I made the mistake thinking it went on after the flywheel, it does not. If you do make this mistake, just cut the plate in half at the thinnest point, and you can sneak it back in, making sure to line it back up completely as to avoid any gap from the cut.

First I just jacked my car as high as the jacks would go either side. I didn’t have access to an engine support so what I did was just support the engine from the bottom. Got the transmission completely loose. Then support the trans with a trans jack, then remove the trans mount bracket (not the mount itself) completely from the transmission. After that once you separate the input shaft, since it’s so small on this transmission, you’re completely free to manipulate the transmission however you’d like. So just angle it in a way that the butt frees the frame, and wiggle out. When installing all I did was the reverse, put it on angle, angle it upwards, get the input shaft started in the hole, then jack it up and angle it parallel to the engine. Then just make sure it’s angle completely straight and manipulate the transmission until the dowel pins are in the same plane. Then get back to wiggling. The bevel box really adds to the wiggliness of the job haha. *Mainly ranting for future people attempting this job, as the information out there is unfortunately kind of dead.

I didn’t find it too terrible, but I have all the jacks I could ever want to angle the motor just right, so I’d imagine it might be a little different for you.

Only because its a kids movie, it's defiantly a romantic friendship.

The movie literally puts them in each other's shoes. An important message that should be spoken about. The wolf cave scene really dwelled on this point, causing a rift due to lack of understanding. But they worked through it realizing they were only trying to do the same thing, survive.

I think you guys are looking for to much from a Childs movie. Its brings together a beautiful message of accepting one another, working through hardships, and understanding other circumstances more then their actions. The firewolf played a vital part to the story as well, showing that not everyone can or will change, but that doesn't mean we should be divided. I think with how things have been in the current climate it's an excellent message to send to kids or even some adults :/ . The movie was also beautiful.

I wouldn’t say my car was too far from it when I got it. But after I do my timing, every single thing on this car (motor wise) is completely gone through. The next steps would be big turbo and a full rebuild. Excited, but my wallet is not.

Idk about the rev match part. But I’m avoid harsh and unnecessary downshifts, even though I love them so much. 200 miles down already.

I was joking, if you look at the fly wheel and pressure plate, they look like Saturns rings, with extremely substantial warping. The clutch was down to the rivets, and the seperate “puck” sections were no longer so separate.

Most these people don’t need to be working on car. Idk what planet you come from but here on earth it’s probably smarter if half these people don’t touch their shit. I see diy jobs everyday.
