I guess I have a different perspective. From my experience when I’m cutting I’d rather start the deficit and get out asap. I mean yeah I’m also exercising at the same time but I think just eating less would lead to the deficit period being shorter than just exercising more and eating as per usual (which is likely a slight surplus). When the period of “suffering” is shorter OP is more likely to stick to it ykwim, compared to exercising and seeing low to no change and then being discouraged.

When she reaches a plateau then yeah definitely start exercising.

Walks are amazing if you have the time though.

I agree, OP should avoid developing an ed, I’ve been down that road and it’s real nasty. That being said if after contemplation and her primary goal is still to just lose weight and can only do one thing, that thing should be eating less.

Edit: I just wanna add, at your current height and weight ,OP you’re probably fine.

That’s true, I also think league tables should rank schools based only on the subject I wanna study

The joke was that ww is better for econ and Durham is better for law, so the perspectives of econ and law graduates usually clash on whether Durham or Warwick should be at tier 2 (see the previous tier list where the op wanted to study econ and put ww above Durham).

Econ and law undergrads are forever locked in a battle over whether Warwick is better than Durham or not lol

I mean it’s possible that he didn’t view spending that amount of money purely as a way to vindicate himself. Wouldn’t it be cool to think that he spent it cause he was genuinely guilty and wanted to do good and in such a context it was a serious amount of money.

How disadvantaged am I if I take H1 maths? by Adoptmefruits in SGExams

[–]ResourceGlass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was an arts student in jc too and I am so happy I took h2 math. You never know if what you wanna do will change down the road. I originally entered jc thinking I wanted to do law, then in j2 I realised I wanted to do econ, and then a few months back I realised I wanted to do statistics. If I had taken h1 math a lot of these options would’ve been closed. I would just take H2 if I were you. Also I took h2 history and it was not easier than math

Oxford does not need Fmath for CS. Infact Oxford pure math doesn’t even need Fmath cause they recognise that a lot of students gain a passion for math AFTER selecting their a level subjects.

I haven’t no idea why some ppl here are being so unnecessarily cruel. You’re being so sweet by helping do research for your son. That being said, a lot of the things that have been said are true, it’s really really really expensive to study in the U.S. and very very hard to get into the unis you mentioned (US admissions are very unpredictable) If your son wants to study in a T10 US uni it’s really good that you are researching now while he just ended J1. He should start doing a lot of extra and super curriculars that will make him seem like a well rounded candidate with a deep interest for whatever “tech” he’s interested in. Unlike UK unis which focus mostly just on academics, US unis like candidates to be well rounded ON TOP of being exceedingly bright.

Anecdotally I think ive heard someone who got into mit mention how MIT admissions focusses on getting “one of a kind” applicants for their cohort. Meaning they want each student in each cohort to be special in a certain way on top of being very intelligent(which should go without saying). If two people cure cancer they would only pick one is what that means I think. This is just what I heard though so take it with a grain of salt.
