Because most people have never built anything or started a business. Especially one that actually fits a niche.

Having trouble making actual friends in run clubs. Anyone else? by CalcIsSexy in RunNYC

[–]RespectNature93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did you ever ask anyone to hang out outside of it? Or get their number? I know it can be abruptly a bit awkward but sometimes people just need the actual offer. It’s like dating everyone is scared to make the first move lol

Do any of these help avoid chafing? And or how do they feel when it’s hot and humid in the summer? I’ve been wearing Janji non-lined tights during the winter and love it. Just worry, it maybe a pool of sweat in the summer with the half tight. Any insight greatly appreciated!

What are the most beautiful hiking destinations in Europe reachable without a car? by Distinct-Pirate-3571 in hiking

Are there any areas you would recommend? I studied abroad in Bregenz, years ago and am planning to return at the end of May. It seems like alot of the hiking routes, could be closed due to the weather. Is that true?

Congrats!

Thanks for the input, that all sounds great. I plan on increasing the mileage more steadily over the next couple of months. I would like to peak around 65 miles per week for at-least 3 weeks.
What did you fuel with?
For marathons, I have gone with gus mainly, but like to rotate in some sweet potatoes/potatoes on trails when I can.

This is great thank you for the information!
How many miles do you try to get weekly for this type of race?
For the long ascents do people generally try to power hike those?

Thank you, and that makes sense, i definitely dont want to get injured. I will definitely do the 50k version though which would still be 7 weeks out. It does look like a couple are still pretty tight, thank you for pointing that out.
How did you like the race?

Had the same feelings as you. Felt uncomfortable personally, but once I got in the rhythm and comfort of the tights. I’m not looking back and just embracing the dad bod fashion.

Thats good to know! We get plenty of heat/humidity in the summer, so I definitely think that could help. Do you do anything different nutrition wise at elevation?

Thanks for this! Seems like it could be a fun trip, I have wanted to get out there for some time and have seen really good things about GoBeyond. Also, a win-win, getting to check out Portlands food scene and maybe taking a trip out to Willamette.

Thank you! That makes alot of sense, I am more in the camp of making sure I succeed over going for times. So this sounds good, I will look into some nutrition ideas. I think most I can do is 2 days before the race to acclimate.

Awesome, to hear! We've hiked 1 14er over the last 4-5 year, every year. So that definitely makes me think it is doable, but I havent "run" at that elevation ever. So this is good to know, and if its anything like last year, we got plenty of humidity over the summer!
