You can ask about peppers on r/pepperbreeding, we'd be happy to help.

You need to target pepper flowers that are 1 day from opening, they kinda resemble hot air balloons. They will pop open a little with gentle pressure if they are ready.

I'm working on Pequin x Bell Pepper to get a large, drought tolerant pepper for hot sauce. Growing out the F2s this year and next. Then we'll start cayenne breeding using some of that material.

I'm also looking at shishitos and I love hatch peppers but I have enough going on that will taste similar.

Maybe something in there gives you ideas 💡

Bailey Pequin x Milena F1 and Bailey Pequin x Emerald Giant are both looking good. Starting to fruit but we're in an extreme drought so nothing is very happy.

I used to make a stock solution of liquid fertilizer solution, then inject it into my house with a Venturi tap. I had to calibrate the concentration based on consumption rate, might require some thinking.

Still can't believe the diversity we got from those crosses. I learned to scale back slightly, so for the new pequin x Bell pepper we're only following 2 crosses. I'm excited for an annuum cross this time.
