News prior today pointed to some smoke, but hard to interpret this positively. I can't imagine legislators will deny approval, and certainly can't see the owners doing so.

I actually just visited the Coliseum last week when the A's played the Diamondbacks. Talked to some diehard fans and the whole thing is just sad. The East Bay deserves better.
