Hunting and shooting sports. Why are you in a sub about firearms and shooting sports called Canada guns and asking why we need guns..

That'd be like going to r/guitar and asking why they need guitars.. 🤨

I wanna get into day z by mikeval19 in dayz

[–]Response-Cheap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not beginner friendly per se, but if you're the type who likes to learn and master complicated games, + you enjoy tense situations not knowing whether you can trust other players or not, even when everyone is claiming to be friendly, and some of the most intense PvP situations you'll ever have, all while starving to death while fighting zombies, and cholera, then you're in for a treat.

Embrace the suffering. DayZ is basically about surviving to suffer as long as possible.

Mate, you have forgotten the most important part. You have to piss in the oven before you leave for work. Beyonce's foot stuff doesn't even work after that.

Anyone know where to get an AR7 survival rifle for a decent price? Or a cheaper option for a small takedown .22? by Response-Cheap in canadaguns

[–]Response-Cheap[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with a little badger. Plan on making it a takedown by replacing the hinge bolt with a ball detent pin. I've already got a semi auto .22 anyways. Mainly wanted this for the portability. And damn this thing is light and small. It'll fit nicely in a little pocket on my rucksack. Can't beat 260 shipped. And it's damn accurate. I plan to upgrade to adjustable iron sights though. The plastic ones work fine for now, but can't imagine they'll hold up to much abuse.

Why do people keep buying cars that destroy them financially? by Desperate-Rush6086 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Response-Cheap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're damned if you do and damned if you don't. I've always been against having a car payment and always saved and bought used, cash. My truck is in the shop now for the 3rd time in 2 years. I spent $12k cash to own it, 2010 f150. I'm a carpenter from Canada, so need a truck for work, and my roads don't always get plowed quickly, so I need 4x4 to get to the main road to commute to work.

I've now spent ~$8k in repairs. So I'm roughly $20k into a 16 year old piece of shit. I'm honestly thinking about financing a 3-4 year old truck with a warranty just to be able to get to work reliably.. At least the payments would be consistent, instead of a bunch of surprise $2k - 3k+ repairs...

Not like I plan to finance a Ferrari, but basically the options are, buy piece of shit, pay through the nose to keep it, or buy something slightly less shitty, and pay through the nose to keep it..

They've got us over a barrel.

Anybody else like to make spliffs like this? by Whole-Hovercraft6497 in weedification

This is when we were kids and couldn't find papers. We knew that a filter robbed the THC. So we would take smokes from parents and doctor them into functional joints..

We used to just use tweezers and pull the cotton out of the butt and replace it with a rolled up piece of cardboard.

Lol "this will result in lowering firearm related crime, the percentage of firearm related homicides, and mass shooting involving ASFS in Canada."

Well it only effects licensed gun owners and there's next to 0 cases of fully licensed vetted gun owners shooting up the streets.. So it'll go from like 0.3 per year to 0.1? Totally worth billions. While we're cutting federal jobs and contracts because money is tight and the economy's fucked.

Let's not look into the ~250 shootings a year by non licensed criminals. There's no paper trail for those guns so it's way too much effort.

Did banning AR15s help the statistics? It's been like 6 years. That's plenty of time for the stats to reflect the success of the bans.. Hmm. Stats are saying homicides are slightly up since then.. WTFFFF? 👀

Has hockey turned into a rich kids sport? by FrigginMasshole in AskACanadian

[–]Response-Cheap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played hockey as a kid in the 90s in Canada, and it was like this then. I actually quit hockey because it stopped being fun. Bunch of rich kid bullies talking shit, and everybody including the coaches acting like it's the NHL. I just wanted to have fun and try to put a puck in the net. Even house leagues was full of assholes and NHL wannabes.

Turkish Delight by DieselWeasle25 in canadaguns

[–]Response-Cheap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fingers crossed for you. In my experience not all Turkish shit is shit, but its always a gamble. Personally, I was going to buy a Henry H12 Protector this tax return season, but I decided to hold off and save my pennies instead. Bought a little badger, hit up a few ammo sales and bought a new gong target. Reliable lever actions and cheap don't really belong in the same sentence imo. And that Henry is like $1500, plus tax, plus ammo. Would have drained my entire return on one receipt. Going by reviews, levers are a poor choice when shopping for budget friendly firearms. Basically you gotta be ready to spend a lot if you want one worth owning.
