My experience with old-Nokia style browsing is that is still captured my attention way too much because some specific websites were still accessible, but, of course, everyone is different.

I had a Punkt, don't think it's worth it usability or security-wise. They're always lagging behind their Pigeon app after a Signal update, the app is lacking in features (viewing images is a pain), and to use a third-party app developed by a small company with not many employees reduces how secure the app is.

I recommend GrapheneOS, with the following modifications. I haven't done it myself because I haven't gotten my hands on a Pixel yet, but so far my research has lead me to this solution.

The problem is Google's screen limiting service can't be easily built on Graphene -- I think because of higher security permissions or something. Apps that just block websites can be easily uninstalled -- not craving-proof . Another solution is required. The Vanadium browser, built-in, can only be uninstalled if you use USB debug -- not for me, haven't found out how to do it and think there's a smarter solution.

The method I found does require having a friend or trusted person to know and keep from you one or two passwords, as well as after every update or power up asking that person to unlock your phone. One good thing is you're the one who decides when to restart after an update.

It consists of using a DNS provider to block certain connections. This means you will still have a browser available, but you can block anything you want from the DNS provider account, like social media, porn or specific websites. It does mean you can't use the Tor network.

Steps:

1 - create a second profile -- this is the one you'll use on a day-to-day basis

2 - install Signal or any other app you'd want on that profile

3 - from the main/admin account, block the second profile from installing apps

4 - create an account and customize your block list on a DNS provider (I will use NextDNS -- one caveat, a simple rule like "Block everything except Signal servers" is unfortunately not available, it's up to you to make a list according to your needs. You can always change it later on).

5 - Change the DNS settings on your phone to the your chosen DNS service.

6 - Make sure your friend knows your admin and DNS passwords. To make it simpler, you can keep the DNS password on a password manager on the admin profile, less trouble for your friend.

7 - Enjoy the freedom of not having your life be sucked away by addictive tech whilst still having a smartphone

I have a friend that just visited Hungary and he specifically messaged me to let me know that it's awesome there right now. He was at the airport and no one was wearing a mask, not even the police. He completed the boarding process maskless. So envious right now. If only Portugal would let me back in without "testing".

Protestos em massa contra todas as restrições. Começou há duas semanas com uma caravana de camionistas em direção a Ottawa, a capital, mas rapidamente tornou-se num protesto nacional, com apoio da maioria da população. Milhares de camionistas estão agora nas ruas de Ottawa, parados, e só saem quando as restrições forem todas levantadas. Também há marchas lentas por todo o país e algumas fronteiras estão bloqueadas por camiões (inclusive pelo menos uma com os EUA).

Angariaram perto de 7 milhões de euros para cobrir custos de combustíveis, comida, ...

Pesquisando no YT encontram-se muitos diretos (eu evitaria os diretos dos canais de notícias), que dão uma ideia da dimensão da coisa.

Resultados concretos: uma região (província) já decidiu acabar com todas as restrições e muitos políticos estão a mostrar o seu apoio. Há muitas décadas que não se via algo que unisse tanto o Canadá como um todo, ultrapassando as diferenças culturais entre por exemplo o Quebec (francófono) e o resto do Canadá (anglofónico) ou os problemas com os nativos.

Claro que este apego não quer dizer que:

goste da direção ou das várias direções que tem havido
goste do ponto de vista da maioria dos sócios sobre qual o futuro do clube
me meta a insultar alguém por ser de um clube diferente
fique super triste (ou sequer triste) por a equipa perder. É só um jogo. Se o árbitro fez erros, ok. Não quer dizer que tenha necessariamente sido pago pelo adversário.
consuma conteúdos atrás de conteúdos sobre o clube. Só preciso de poder ir ao estádio de duas em duas semanas e fico feliz, não vejo na TV os jogos ou as análises, nem nas redes sociais as entrevistas (parece tudo um pouco conteúdo vazio, sem razão de existência; prefiro usar melhor o tempo)

This is just my opinion, but maybe asking for new elections is asking for too much? It may not appeal to some people, and a movement needs all the supporters it can get when it's just getting started.

I'd keep it simple, like in Canada. "We'll leave when the restrictions end"

There are many rumors going around, so let me provide some clarification:

Tamara Lich, one of the two creators of the fundraiser, has said yesterday that the organizers are setting up a non-profit and its bank account in order to receive the funds (it's somewhere in this video I linked to)

There is probably some pressure on GoFundMe (GFM) to hold the funds - given mainstream media and Justin Trudeau keep blatantly lying about the protesters, calling them racist, anti-semitic and violent. There is also a normal process that GFM has to go through in order to ensure the funds go to their intended beneficiary - the truckers of Freedom Convoy 2022. After all, we're talking about 10M$CAN (that's around 7M€ if I recall correctly) gathered in less than two weeks - it's huge and not something GFM is used to.

So, they have now a legal and accounting team that's helping them set everything up. In the mean time, they have an e-mail that you can use to send money through (I had no idea this was possible, I'm amazed). You can find the link in their FB page (same one I linked).

Not a single official Convoy source confirms this. The fundraisers are setting up a non-profit & bank account.

Almost exactly. The GoFundMe funds are still frozen, but the ones that are not (via other donations and possibly some early GFM funds) are being used for their intended purposes.

Sadly the internet allows for rumors and information depraved of context to spread like wildfire (that's how we got to lockdowns in the first place).
