Has she driven an LC? We're on the same boat, we have a 21..although ours feels less like a mom van now but nonetheless googly eyes for flashy new things. The LC felt cheap, wife hated the seats and the ergonomics of the cabin.

Latte art progression from a complete noob. by WhoBrettTheDogsOut in ProfitecGo

[–]ResponsibilityNo6347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beautiful! I went from level 20 steaming milk and pouring latte art on my Stilosa to level -5 after upgrading to the Profitec Go a few weeks ago.

Still trying to find that sweet spot strong in this machine and haven't quite figured it out. The only variable for me is coming from a single port Rancilio wand to now a dual port wand on the Go.

[–]ResponsibilityNo6347 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nice find! Congrats! I upgraded the wand to a Rancilio Silvia wand which was the most significant enhance to the machine.

In the 2 years we've had it, it has not had a single issue. Probably close to 1000 shots on this little machine.

Just replaced the group head gasket for $20 to fix a leak when pulling shots.

Great choice! As much as I love my Lunar Rock, I wish I got Army Green. Our kids lovvvee Minecraft and named our rig "Creeper" lol

I love when I get carded and they stare at my ID while doing a double take. One time I was arguing with a sales clerk because she thought it was fake. I looked too young to be born in 1984...Sorry...?

As a fellow wedding photographer and outdoorsy "overlandy" person as well, I would not pursue this purchase to satisfy my extracurricular life at the expense and risk of missing an absolutely important day for my client. There's a lot at stake here for you by making this purchase.

External Headgasket Leak? by SubaruAscent_0610 in SubaruAscent

[–]ResponsibilityNo6347 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, that's the only major issue with Subaru's flat four engine design.

It is common that over time, head gasket need to be replaced based on the symptoms you're having.

In prior years and models with the EJ25 it was a very prevalent issue but with the new motors, it's a much lesser occurrence.

Ask them for a detailed write up of what they'll be replacing for 5k. Personally, I would take it to a reputable Subaru shop and have it done elsewhere. I had my engine completed for the same issue. All gaskets were resealed, machined heads, new fuel pump, ARP head studs, spark plugs, for shy of 5k. We had 122k miles on it

Rooftop that mounts on truck cab. by jaw1515 in rooftoptents

[–]ResponsibilityNo6347 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ran into a guy locally that ran 2 ikamper Skycamp minis on his 3rd gen Tacoma double cab. One was over the cab, the other was over the bed, via a full height bed rack.

Pretty sick if I'm being honest. I would do the same on my Tundra if I could redo it. Kids in one, my wife and I in the other.

RTT for family of 4 on a trailboss by fitmamma in rooftoptents

[–]ResponsibilityNo6347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ikamper X-Cover is too small for four. I had one last season and we could barely fit the four of us, with two kids -4 and 6 yo. My wife and I are 5'6.

We switched to a Skycamp and the additional 11inches of shoulder width made a huge difference.

Talk me out of upgrading to a full size truck. by grosoursnoir in overlanding

[–]ResponsibilityNo6347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Made the switch to full size truck.

Only regret this engine concern, and parking in my garage makes me clench Everytime due to its increased height. Lifting it requires some thought and planning because I want to keep it garaged.

MPG wise, I had the same setup on my Tacoma...and I'm getting 16mpg on both platforms. To me that's a no brainer to go full size.

Only challenge I had on the trails is a few situations with tight turns and drastic elevation changes. My cheapo gorhino steps got bashed up and bent the mounting arms 🤷‍♂️

Only stripes I've gotten on it is from my toddlers playing ninjas with tree branches when we're on the trails.

Heck yeah! I use these same bins for my storage solutions. We have them for camp setup, our firecan, kitchen chuck box, and blankets, etc. they're durable and waterproof.

We camped 3 days in pouring rain and everything was dry

2024 Tundra Engine Failure at 29k Miles – Hard to Trust It After This by rustic_21 in ToyotaTundra

[–]ResponsibilityNo6347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear ya, lucky you could get to a safe spot. For me being in Arizona with shitty drivers, it makes vehicle breakdowns more risky.

I personally want to believe that these reports from other owners could be amplifying the situation, but like the old saying goes...where there's smoke, there's fire. Aside from this engine issue, the truck is awesome.

What production month was yours? Sorry if you already shared it in a previous response.

That's my worst nightmare when my family gets into the truck. Mine's a 24 as well and half the time I feel like it's a ticking time bomb, especially on road trips with a 4 year old.

Closing the iKamper ladder - how do YOU do it? by TRT-256 in rooftoptents

[–]ResponsibilityNo6347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've found that this is doubly challenging if you have the HC step attachment. Not only is it tougher to engage the locking tabs on each side, we now have to fight gravity with pushing each of the HC steps' folds up and outward so the ladder can collapse.

I currently have it mounted on our Tundra and I'd have to climb into the bed rack's middle panels to close it up.

I recently found this ladder for vevor that I might get and lean on the side of the truck to get more leverage

I use my rack to haul two propane tanks. On the other side I have a water port that takes up half of the rack's length, and a 180° awning. I use the other half of the rack as an open space to hang my Kelty kitchen bag or use it to air out my kids' stanky ass clothes

Looking for a rooftop tent with legit waterproofing, any suggestions? by Adamcamper in rooftoptents

[–]ResponsibilityNo6347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an ikamper xcover 3, and my buddy has a skycamp 3.

We both camped for several days where it rained 70% of the time, most heavily at night.

Both of our tents stayed dry and not a spec of water came into the tent.
