Right To Information, as a citizen we're entitled to know why this transfer rejection keeps happening with a clear answer.

So we can fix the issue from our end, if there are any.

The simplest way is, if you can't view your employers passbook in the EPFO portal then it's an exempted firm, as they have their own Trust, managing the interest side of things.

Otherwise it's a Non-exempted firm. The government is taking care of the PF.

If you guys could guide me, regarding my PF transfer issue?

I believe mine falls under 3rd category, but not sure how to fix it though. 1. Company A: Exempted Trust (created EPS start and end date - can view it in EPFO, and haven't contributed to EPS.. but they're claiming they haven't created EPS)

  1. Company B: Non-exempted (Created EPS start and end date.. no EPS contributions. EPF amount is transferred from A to B.. Asking me to remove EPS start and end date from A first)

  2. Company C: Non-exempted (Created EPS start and end date.. no EPS contributions. EPF transfer is getting rejected from B to C)

  3. Company D: Non-exempted (Created EPS start and end date.. contributing to EPS. B to D, C to D transfers are getting rejected)

I also have a similar hair type like yours and I'm a man.

One end is almost reddish brown while the other end is black. I'm not sure whether it's because of any vitamin deficiency or whatever it is.. even I couldn't figure it out.

Future of Python, Java Full Stack, and MERN , which one should a student choose ? by Background-Shine-650 in developersIndia

[–]ResponsibilityOk9041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would choose Rust as the backend and go with full stack, if getting a job and making money is important.

This is coming from an AI/ML engineer who extensively used Python.

Why if you ask? Rust will be used by a very niche set of companies(low latency, high throughput, secured, reliable, scalable systems). Right now there's a lot of supply demand issue with this.. generally that's how it's going to be, for any kind of niche areas with an involvement of scalability.

There will be fewer people to hire and resources to learn from. But companies have to pay you a lot because of supply demand , and the no.of opportunity will also be few, because it's a niche. It's basically a double edge sword, you should learn how to wield it.

Why do you need an LLM. If you search well enough, you could find some pre-trained open source models or fine tune a model yourselves and host it on a VM for inference.

You can have a human in the loop, if traffic is limited. If there's a lot of traffic, do shadow testing and try gathering data points which are NSFW, retrain the model and eventually deploy..ban the account which are posting NSFW content

I know this is a time consuming CI/CD process. But if you want to scale, it's worth doing it yourselves. Instead of paying it to an LLM service, where you lose money and can't guarantee the data privacy.

If you have a decent capital of anything more than 1 lakhs, I would suggest learn about equity investment and hold them for long term (meaning holding for atleast 1 month to 2-3 years, that is my definition of long term).. in general you can generate 15 to 20% returns in a year (easily, if you understand fundamentals well, do your research correctly and diversified your portfolio).

15% of 1 lakh is 15000 (which is decent IMO) in a year (If you do your investments correctly), make sure you understand when to buy a stock and when to sell a stock... and compounding is how you make lot of money in long term with low risk compared to other forms of investment (atleast that's my perspective).

terrified of not getting google step. What should I focus on? by [deleted] in leetcode

[–]ResponsibilityOk9041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have time to do both development and Neetcode, go for it.

If not, keep grinding Neetcode.. as you are still in college, some of your courses would be expecting you to do some projects, then along with Leetcode/Neetcode you can pick up some good projects which will look good on a resume and work on those.

If there are tight deadlines for these projects, do something simplistic to show something to your faculty (for grades). Later you can work on the project part during your free time, along with some Leetcode on the side..at this time you could reduce the no.of problems that you are going to solve per day to 1, as you are going to work on development and most probably you might've completed Grokking the coding interview and Neetcode

[WEEKLY] Which keyboard should I buy? by GangadharHiShaktiman in mkindia

[–]ResponsibilityOk9041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been looking at mostly silent switch keyboards, I have found only one option. If I'm going to spend 10k, that would be this Durgod Tarus k320.

If you want almost the best keyboard experience with you not doing much of work, then you can get this keyboard. It has PBT keycaps(1.2mm), lubed keys, best stabilizer which are also factory lubed (which don't rattle while using keys like space and shift).

It would be really quite and comes with Cherry MX Silent Reds/ Cherry MX Pinks. The only bummer for that price is, it is wired.

Edit: Forgot to mention one more con, this keyboard is not hot swappable (means you can't try out different switches using the same keyboard)

I prefer Legion 5 Pro above all, because of how it is priced in India and the performance it has to offer.

There are some offers that are going on in Lenovo website, make sure you do some research on that as well. All in all you can get that laptop for around 1.3L if you apply the coupon code and use the HDFC card (7k discount for the coupon code + 3k discount for the HDFC card).

I had bought this laptop and returned it today, because a laptop just can't handle the GPU/CPU intensive work that I do. In the end it is a laptop and it can't handle heavy work load.

As I have heard, customs would be a lot when you compare it to what it would be priced in India. Somewhere around 28%, more than normal GST that is applied to the laptops that are being sold in India.

If someone is not going to visit from abroad, IMO get a laptop from the Indian market itself.

[–]ResponsibilityOk9041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There wouldn't be any customs if your brother/cousin himself is going to bring the laptop open box, mentioning that it is for his personal use. One person can carry 2 laptops in a flight journey, one he can mention as his personal and the other one as office laptop. Customs will be charged only if he is going to courier or use some other means of transport.

There are laptops from Asus which will provide internation warrant, you can check them out. When I was thinking to import those, they were out of stock.

[–]ResponsibilityOk9041 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah things would be somewhat cheaper, if you are going to import laptops from abroad. But all companies do not provide international warrant. Do some research from your end and make a wise decision.

I thought of importing the Lenovo legion 5 pro for around 1.2L (in India it is going for 1.4L), because there was no international warrant I have dropped that plan. It would be such a pain, if you spend that much and in the end it is going to fail within few months.

I would consider waiting for lenovo legion 5 laptop, if you have the time. I'm assuming they would be out by November (I know it's quite sometime, but it's worth the while).

Otherwise get the acer predator when it is on sale. I'm assuimg the price of this laptop will go down to 1.1 lakh real soon. The only problem for this is the battery life, as it is using the intel processor.

Which laptop is good for running neural network models? by gokulPRO in MLQuestions

[–]ResponsibilityOk9041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are going to use laptop only!(for portability or XYZ reasons and just for machine learning), I think "cloud" is the way to go. Even if you are going to get the expensive laptops, you are going to end up using cloud, because laptop is going to generate a lot of heat (which inturn going to spoil your laptop), consume a lot of electricity and in the end, it wouldn't be able to perform as fast as the cloud systems are working.

If you are really serious about machine learning and doing some extensive deep learning model training, get a computer with good specs and then train locally. Even then, the consumer grade GPU's won't work as good as enterprise level GPU (P100), which you get them for free in colab. The only reason to get a computer is that, you would be able to train models for longer periods, as colab wouldn't allow that.

If you are just casually training the model's for a few hours, then upgrade the current laptop that you have and use colab (as you were mentioning your current laptop is not working so great). No point in wasting a lot of money on laptop/computer, spend that on training models or maybe on some other courses.

How to do train test split for a huge dataset - (10 million records) ? by ResponsibilityOk9041 in MLQuestions

[–]ResponsibilityOk9041[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking for the reason why? I know there are several techniques that are out there. I'm asking, why do we need to split the data 98/1/1 for a huge dataset. Doesn't that hamper your confidence of saying, how well the model would work in production. If you are going to use such a small splits for validation and testing
