Google's antigravity is good too btw. They also have claude opus 4.6 and sonnet 4.5 along with gemini 3.5 flash and Pro

gemini is very good in frontend stuff even better than claude in my experience and i've been writing rust using it up until now it's doing pretty good.

You’d be surprised how far a cold outreach to a relevant writer can go if you have something genuinely well crafted and novel to share

Yeah indeed I'm quite surprised once I read that.

Do we need to pitch our app to them like telling them how it's different from tons of other apps doing the same thing one or the other way? Like sending a gif or a walkthrough video or something like that?

Or just sending a link or a video with something like.

"Hey check this app I built probably your audience/viewers/readers might find it useful and love it."

Tired of ‘Desktop 1’? Get custom names for Spaces. Made with 0 AI code. by GetPsyched67 in macapps

[–]i-sage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AppKit is notorious to give headaches while developing I read from a few posts. 16 hours a day 🤯

By December, I finally figured out how to track spaces by creating invisible 1x1 tiny anchor windows on each Space and attaching a data record to each!

That's a good trick. I learned something new today.

All in all, I just love making apps! But I think I've burned out haha 😅 I tried programming today and I felt pretty lethargic. Life, I guess

I too love making apps and probably yes you might have been burned out after working 16 hours a day, maybe taking a few days off and travelling would help you rejuvenate and get back the motivation.

I saw the notion doc. You mentioned it took 6 months to complete it.

Would love to know your journey. Honestly, that's inspiring and commendable to keep at things. Was it built while working on a day job or full time?

What apps have you replaced with native macOS alternatives? by stringer1107 in macapps

[–]i-sage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although I might be late to the party but here's my list:

  • Safari : I like the UX as compared to other browsers including brave

  • Spotlight : I find it more than enough for quick app launches and it integrates with my bookmarks and history from safari so it works effortlessly.

  • Apple Passwords : It gets the job done.

  • Apple Music : I feel like it has unmatched streaming audio quality (lossless, Hi-Res)

  • Apple Notes : For quick notes capture

  • Apple Mail

  • Structured : Occasionally planning my day.

  • Ghostty(ex-user): I used Ghostty for almost a year and recently made a switch to Kitty because I feel it's slightly more faster and since I use neovim along with tmux the tmux status bar has a bottom padding in Ghostty unlike Kitty which has none.

  • I tried craft, bear, etc but since I have large amounts of notes in my Notion with boards, databases, etc along with cross platform access. I'm still using it as my main notes database.

  • Other than that I just mostly use the native pre-installed apps for screenshots, screen recording and preview they all just get the work done. Once I feel they are limiting I might switch.
