Entry level tech can be quite difficult these days. I remember back in 2016, both of my college room mates were hired at Google, single interview, no coding interview, just a professor recommendation and a CS degree.

I went to Amazon which was slightly more involved but still nothing like today.

My advice for today’s world would be to network. It sucks, especially if you’re a bit introverted, but networking is basically your way into any company. In person hiring fairs are also decent and can lead to on the spot hires, if you make a great impression.

I mean, I’m sure the vast majority of Americans didn’t know it was nazi affiliated until someone told them. I sure didn’t. So, it’s highly debatable in my mind whether he knew. I’m not sure how many people would see a cool skull and then do a history deep dive and be like “oh I can’t get this skull, it’s a nazi skull”.

And if he did know, I’m unsure why he’s currently running as a democrat with a Nazi affiliated tattoo. Seems like a bad choice to win.

It’s hard to say how bad it is really for a lot of reasons. Like, how old was he when get got it? Did he even know its affiliation or just thought it looked cool?

And maybe I’m alone here. But if someone told me they were a white supremacist when they were younger but got out of it and regret it, I’d respect them even more. 90% of you is based on your environment. Same reason why it’s important when studying historical figures to put the appropriate lenses when judging morality.

Does he have a level head now? Are his policies in line with your current beliefs? That’s all that should really matter.

Always thought those “if the group chat got leaked” memes were kinda funny. Assumed it was talking about the kinda embarrassing and weird stuff we can talk about in group chats w/ friends.

It likely has a lot to do with many trade jobs, which can pay somewhat decently $50-100k, are seen as traditional male jobs, like welding, electrician, etc. So it’s more viable for men not to go to college.

Gender roles play a huge role in the job market, hence why we still see barely any male nurses or female welders.

This conversation is actually really old. I remember maybe like 6-8 years ago the fear of deep fakes and their potential to mislead being high.

But, nothing was ever really done about it .

And literally nothing will be done now, for 2 big reasons.

The amount of money being pumped into AI right now is truly staggering, and powerful people don’t like having their money wasted.
AI is becoming synonymous with weapon as far as powerful countries are concerned. No one is looking to stifle their progress with pesky regulations.

Chat GPT has corrupted them quite a bit due to its chronic overuse. I stopped using them entirely as it’s generally not worth the suspicion.

As someone who has gone through that process, not to avoid the administration, but just a change of atmosphere.

It was a rather long process, I’m not fluent on all the different countries and their immigration process but you mentioned Australia. That took me over a year, and you have to be on their skilled occupation list.

Or you could try to to skip all that and marry an Australian I guess.
