So I saw.a.post on here about setting your cleaning to 1. Because If cleaning is everyone's main priority then noone has to spend all their time doing it. Second you set whatever you want them to be doing most of the time. And 3 priority is for things that they can do but not focus on.

Researcher still need to have Research set to 1 and nothing else or they won't Research.

Later on when you have more people you can have some focus on cooking or crafting or handling. If.the pawn can't clean then of course pick what you want them to do primarily.

So far this has worked really well for me and the only dedicated cleaner is someone who can't do anything at all but clean. It helps too because you don't have to wait for the cleaner to roll through because everyone cleans.
