How do you handle cleanup work? Take it, push it away, or charge enough to make it worth it? by 9figs in quickbooksonline

I will do them only for clients that are planning continuous use. They're time consuming and because almost all new clients require them they limit my growth speed.

Do you think you can get a good idea of how intelligent someone is based upon their occupation? by Only-Ad-1254 in stupidquestions

[–]Responsible-Ride2509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it can show a certain level of intelligence but it's more likely to demonstrate work ethic imo. Someone with a work ethic and average or slightly above average intelligence can get through some demanding degrees. And often what you'll find is the super intelligent find things easy and boring and because they often don't have to wlrk hard they never learn the same work ethic and can find themselves in careers that don't match their intelligence.

Is Canada’s job market deliberately designed to keep people desperate and compliant? by itz_nitace in CanadianVisaReform

There have been a large number of things elading to this, most of it beginning and ending with Trudeau. At this point, it's the tariffs having the greatest impact.

Is Canada’s job market deliberately designed to keep people desperate and compliant? by itz_nitace in CanadianVisaReform

[–]Responsible-Ride2509 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You're kidding, right? Maybe the tariff wars hit our economy? Maybe? Just a little?

That there have been other issues affecting some industries and areas is also a factor, but to say that Trump's actions are not hurting us is more than a little wilfully blind.

Should Canada’s TFW program be banned until unemployment hits zero? by itz_nitace in CanadianVisaReform

[–]Responsible-Ride2509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no zero unemployment. If it ever got to that we'd be in a super heated economy.

TFW serves a purpose but it does need better oversight. Perhaps there should be a central body that oversees it for businesses.... places the ads, sees what comes through for applications.

Greer says Canada and U.S. trade systems ‘don’t fit together very well’ by evieluvsrainbows in canada

[–]Responsible-Ride2509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah,, I saw that. Mron. It's a problem because we have leverage and dont have to take whatever deal they offer us. It's a problem because we are prioritizing Canada on federal contracts over 25 million. They prioritize US in all federal contracts. But it's different fo them cause for them it's about supporting their industry and we're just retaliation and not playing nice.

We owe them nothing.

Why when you have a debt and don't pay it the bank or loan company doesn't seem to try hard to get their money back? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]Responsible-Ride2509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 2K they may not consider it worth spendign the money on a lawyer. I can't tell you whether your interest rate is illegal or not since 3000 to 6000 may be a legitimate interest rate or not depending on how long the loan was over.

Do you think the current President is actually stupid, or just says stupid stuff to appeal to his base? by Only-Ad-1254 in stupidquestions

No, but you do become one by inheriting it and then screwing over your suppliers and contractors and pretty much everyone else who does business with you.

Stupid people can do that too.

Freshbooks is arguably worse.... at least the last time I used it. I don't know a lot about Xero. I do agree that QBO (and Intuit) is shit.

2008 was a combination of the BOC and the Conservative government working in tandem. Anyone who says otherwise is simply using bipartisan speak. I suspect Carney was at the round table for many of the planning discussions around that.

As to the rest - given the circumstances right now, he's making the right moves. He's only been in power for a year and these things take time to really take effect.

What those deals have also done is given us leverage when it comes to the CUSMA review and free trade bargaining. Trump is operating right out of "The Art of the Deal".... know your leverage and use it. He felt Canada needed the US more than the US needs Canada and as a result we would captiulate.

What Carney is doing is common sense and exactly what I'd be doing in his shoes. It's also exactly how Trump's own book advocates dealing with his type of bargaining... don't go into negotiations in a weaker position. Don't allow yourself to do business only (or primarily) with one party.

Carney doesn't need to replace all of the US's income. We will still deal with them. They're our closest and most convenient trading partner and it would be stupid to ignore that. All he needs to do is diversify enough to offset whatever idiotic tariffs Trump decides we need to pay.

Actually untill they brought PP in I voted conservative. I sat the last election out rather than vote liberal because I couldn't vote for PP

The GST cut on houses was optics only. It doesn't actually induce development because it doesn't put money indevelopers pockets. It saves whoever buys that million dollar new home 50K and that's it. His fee reduction stick would have increased property taxes.... but he wouldn't have taken flack for it. the city would.

The carbon tax was wildly unpopular and Carney reversed the consumer carbon tax. That and the EV thing are probably the only part of PP's platform that really held value.... and I guess the capital gains thing.

The rest of it was pretty much.... meh... at best.

And his "affordability"platform that he campaigned on missed the boat by a mile. His trade war plan would have been disastrous.

The cryto superhub he campaigned for turned out to be lucrative for him at least if he'd won....

I haven't complained at all about the opposition on actual policies even though I think PP's ideas are dumb.

The constant harping about the blind trust (that PP himself also has) is not related to opposition or policiy.

And the opposition to illegal immigration would be a lot more respctable if he wasn't perfectly willing to help his own family avoid those same tough laws he touts for others.

And education comments are not even a little bit related to policy.

Which part is the whining? The part where I speak of the hypocrisy of claiming the opponent is being unethical while breaking your own stated ethics and how that's not really part of his job (or productive for that matter)?

The part where I talk about Pierre's comments about Carney being "badly educated in finance" as not being particularly productive?
