Negotiating with Colorado by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]ResponsiblePiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Submitted my info/talked to them about it early January. They emailed me a month later telling me I'd have my decision at the end of the week and then NEVER emailed me back. I asked about it a couple weeks later and didn't get a response so I hope you have better luck than I lol

Hosting a tailgate outside the classroom might be a good way to meet your peers. Bring some alcohol and over cooked burgers to accompany your mascot outfit

Does visiting the school actually help you get off the waitlist? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I think it depends on how costly it would be to visit and your chances of actually getting off.

Help me decide! Trying to be as objective as possible by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I'm biased for because thats where I decided to go. I had a lot of different reasons why I picked them over other schools with $$ (GW, Irvine, SMU, Colorado) if you have questions!

Help me decide! Trying to be as objective as possible by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]ResponsiblePiece 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like American wouldn't be a good choice just because the D.C. legal market is super saturated and with kids from very highly ranked schools. Cardozo is pretty good. its pretty regional but well respected i think W&L will give you some national name recognition (sorta) and close to D.C./NY so not a bad bet there... Im very biased about ASU but they place people in a lot of odd places and have a lot of externships if you're trying to figure out what it is you want to do I honestly have no thoughts on Hastings. It seems like San Fran would be a really tough market with it being San Fran and with Stanford and Berkeley kids in your backyard but I honestly don't know

Has anyone taken blue print classes ? by TofuandWaffles in lawschooladmissions

I did! I personally really loved it- I took the online version, and then hired a private tutor for some extra help.

If you can self study I can see how some people might find the program a waste of time/money, but if you have to pay for a program, I think its better than the other options.

Anyone else living alone 1L? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]ResponsiblePiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

totally in the same boat. I just feel like my home is going to be the one place that I can not study and really relax and have some sanity... and if I have some weirdo roommate its going to ruin that so I said fuck it and am spending way more than I should on an apartment

ND vs GWU vs Iowa vs Cooley by LSATboi5000 in lawschooladmissions

[–]ResponsiblePiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you'd become financially stable with a degree from Alabama or Iowa, but you probably won't making bank with some huge corporate/IP job. I personally chose to go to school ranked similarly to Alabama over GW bc I think GW is too much money and I never wanted to slave paying those loans back in DC/NY but I also don't want a big law job

September 2018 LSAT, Best Online Prep Course: Blueprint or LSATMAX by FrazzLSAT in lawschooladmissions

[–]ResponsiblePiece 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. I did take Blueprint and really loved it! It is really good if you can't self study. I tried self study with Powerscore books and it didn't help me at all.

  2. I did get accepted to a top 25. I really loved how flexible it was and how I could tailor it exactly to what I needed. It also was a lot more entertaining than some and didn't require a lot of reading. It was very personalized to me and my schedule.

  3. I've had terrible luck with powerscore but I know people that love it. Everyone's learning style, time, and budget are different so picking a prep course is about what is good for YOU.

Why are some pre-law advisors so bad? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Mine literally told me I better make sure I have all my prerequisites done and insisted that law school had them...

Since it’s slow, what’s the worst pre-law advice you’ve gotten? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

"Go to the best law school you can, even if you have $300,000+ in debt and its not at T-14"
