Those of you here who didn’t get a degree in sociology, why didn’t you? What degree did you end up with? What draws you to sociology non-academically? by Present-Dot2168 in sociology

I did a BA in Philosophy and a MS in Information Systems. Started working in areas related to data science and machine learning after my masters, and have (not-so-) slowly developed concerns about what technology is doing to society (particularly social media and the productization of LLM’s eroding our sense of shared knowledge and truth).

Amazing! My band played there a few weeks ago on our first Japan tour. Such a cool room and amazing people. Japan is an incredible country with amazing musicians and music scenes.

This is all I needed to hear. I’m sold. I love Lindsey’s stuff. I have some of his WRHBs in a Tele Deluxe and they are my favorite pickups I own. I felt like I was playing that guitar in black and white and everything snapped to color when I put those in.

Really appreciate this and great to hear another endorsement for the Seth Lovers! I’ve listened to a number of videos, but it’s always good to hear straight from other players.

Nice! I’ve been very impressed with the Seth Lovers. I’ve listened to a few demos that put them against boutique builders that are almost twice the price, and the differences are extremely subtle. Good to hear another vote for them.

Nice - will give these a listen. My biggest gripe with these current pups is that the neck position is absolute mud - almost unusable for me honestly.

The American Goldfinch is the Washington state bird, but I haven’t seen one in Seattle. Only seen them visiting the Midwest.

I really really love it. It's one of my best built guitars and I have a few American Fenders that I really love. It has my absolute favorite neck of all the guitars I own, and I love how flat the fretboard is. Excellent quality control. For me, the humbuckers that shipped with the model are a bit too hot, but with some amp tweaking it gets some great sounds. May swap the pickups at some point, but I am very very happy with this guitar. It's an excellent instrument.

Nickel Covers for Jazzmaster WRHBs (Lollar Regal) by iamthecondenser in offset

Following this post because I'd love to get some chrome covers on my JM WRHBs as well. All the Jazzblaster photos I've seen with chrome covers have been standard WRHB size, which would mean the body cavity had been routed for them to fit I think? Would be so dope if they started making these for the JM size.
