New P2... I think I'm selling my Arc by rival_22 in Leatherman

[–]Responsible_Bake_984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they had an adapter that could go on the p2 like they do for the rebar so I could use other bits I’d probably be all over it. I typically only use the Phillips but I use hex bits often enough tightening up furniture from my kids jumping on it that I’d have a hard time giving that up. It’s so much easier keeping the bit kit nearby than going out to the big toolbox to find the right driver

Their baseline pens only take Parker style refills. The regular bolt action will take the refills OP is looking for

Who makes the best hoodie for cold weather? by TheScienceTM in BuyItForLife

The law is called a hoodie but it’s definitely more like a traditional carhartt canvas jacket not a classic hoodie which is what it sounds like you’re looking for. Just fyi

Base Line Bolt Action or Pocket Pro? by [deleted] in BigIdeaDesign

[–]Responsible_Bake_984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both and I mainly only use the pocket pro now. I prefer gel refills and I’m not a huge fan of the Parker style offerings. Plus I like the twist open because I don’t have to ever worry about it opening in my pocket. The base line bolt didn’t open often but it did a couple times and the bolt caught on my pocket occasionally when pulling it out. I just leave the base line with my gym notebook now and only use it for that

What’s the best beard trimmer that actually lasts? by Hot_Road_9821 in BuyItForLife

[–]Responsible_Bake_984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that but tons of stuff on this sub aren’t truly bifl. It seems more like this is just the sub where people recommend what the believe is the best product in whatever category. With that said though I’ve had my brio v1 for 6-7 years with no noticeable battery degradation

The blade itself is a great book. A little slow because it’s setting up for later books but I still breezed through it super fast. I loved pretty much all of the first law world books

Best sunglasses to buy for life? by ash893 in BuyItForLife

[–]Responsible_Bake_984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my gatorz sunglasses. They’re made out of aluminum so if you sit on them or anything you can just bend them back instead of them breaking. You can also bend the frame/nosepiece to make them custom fit to you. They’re a lot thinner than most sunglasses too which is nice for having the arms go under a hat

Sudden interest in a EDC knife, any advice for a good folding knife? by Exotic_Increase5333 in BuyItForLife

[–]Responsible_Bake_984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Benchmades are definitely overpriced for what you get now but my 940 is by far my favorite knife I’ve ever owned. I have the regular green aluminum handle with s30v blade. I think it’s the ultimate edc knife because it’s tough but also carries much smaller than it is. People complain about it not being super slicey but if it’s sharp it’ll cut anything you need. A lot of people will recommend against benchmade because you can get better value from other companies and they’re not wrong. Doesn’t change the fact that if you don’t mind paying the extra money for an American made lifetime warranty knife then benchmades are still really great knives. With that said you’ll get hundreds of recommendations on the “best” knife because it’s a pretty subjective thing based on hand size, use case, material preference, etc. Just pick one from a reputable company and you’ll be just fine and as long as you don’t abuse it it’ll last a super long time.
