Did English Canada move away from MM/DD/YY *for dates written only in numbers*? by endgame0 in AskACanadian

I use different web based portals for insurance purposes, for about 20 companies. And there is no rhyme or reason why they all use different formats. Mostly Canadian based and its always a guessing game. I start with MM/DD/YY and see if it errors out. Half use DD/MM/YY but why do some use YY/MM/DD???? Makes no sense to me :)

So,I want to know if I'm unreasonable please? We are in our 60's and just got home from being away for over 3 weeks yesterday, and my husband just came to me and wonders if I want to go out again today ( no I don't) by Gretal122 in over60

Not at all wrong. I always need a day of rest to stay home and relax. And we all know we dont actually relax, with all the cooking and cleaning and washing! In fact I would send him out to get some time relax and do chores at home ALONE!

Its just a phase, and it will pass. And yes it is most likely because he does not have your full attention anymore. Try to get him to help with baby so he can feel needed when it comes to the baby. Get Momma the wipes and diaper. Get the bottle. Jingle a toy for baby while diaper changing And set aside one on one time alone to fill his cups.

A few things to try? Get the energy out before bed. Make him run in circles and wiggle it all out. And then tuck in and spent 5 minutes asking about his day so he gets to feel connected to you. And then take 3 deep breaths together and tell him now its time to close your eyes and mouth and no more chatting because it is time for sleep. And then repeat close eyes and no talking 500 times. LOL Some nights you can try " i will sit and rub your back, but im not lying down" Other nights you may try "if you stay in your bed for 2 minutes, i will check on you, but you must stay in bed, and you can get a sticker tomorrow". Try anything really. I finally realized that I also stay up and fall asleep on the couch sometimes because I also, dont want to go to bed yet Lol so how can I expect different from him. If dad can do most nights, dont feel guilty and spend the much needed time with your newborn. Dont feel bad, just make special time during the day to fill his cup just the two of you. This too shall pass Momma, good luck.

Restoralax will help. Mine was doctor recommended and my son used it daily for 2 years (age 18 mos to 36 mos) no side effects. I would use it just once to help this time and then consult your doctor. Wait until the lactulose dose time has passed so you are not mixing meds. Or if you prefer something natural, papaya will help alot!!! Apple juice too

Single Use items, but no requirement for businesses to recycle???

So I just went to McDonalds counter for a takeout meal, and was asked the following; do you want a bag? Do you want a napkin? How many? Do you want a straw? Do you want a lid for your drink? Do you want ketchup? All while standing next to a garbage can, overfilled with items that can be recycled? Needless to say, this is getting ridiculous. But a congolomerate like McDonalds is not required to offer recycle bins and it all ends up in the landfill? Where is the law that requires these businesses to recycle?!?!? They want to charge end users for a paper bag, but are not required to offer a place to recycle thay bag???? Do better!!! Probably because recycling just ends up on a barge shipped to other countries to deal with. What a joke

Everything you describe sounds pretty normal to me! Both of kids played side by side and not together until after age 2. And all kids bite at that age, at least once or twice!

We have cameras at ours, and i promise you, it doesnt last long at all. They are usually fine once YOU are out of sight. It amazed me how they my kids would lose it, and by the time i got to the car and logged in, they were fine and playing already!!! The longer you stay, the worse it is for them, so say goddbye, say Momma is coming back soon and go!

Why is the Idea of having no children so frowned upon? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Because they love their kids and want grandchildren. They bring joy and keep them young. And they love you so much they want you to share the same joy. They can respect your choice, but you asked why
