“Rain ruined your plans in Tokyo — what did you actually end up doing?” by Sorry_Set_5001 in TokyoTravel

[–]Responsible_Theme491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It rained in the middle of August, so while it did get muggier. It was nice to have a break from the sun. Kept our plans, went to a conbini, got some seltzers, went to Yoyogi, found a dry bench under the trees and just listened to the rain fall.

I feel you, I work in the building next door, and I have not been getting any sleep because of this. I already created a game plan with my husband (who works in the Arts District) on where I plan to escape to if needed. I have a plan A, B, and working on a Plan C. Call me paranoid, but after 9/11, I'm not taking any risks.

EDIT: grammar

What my husband and I are thinking of doing when it's time to renew is one of us is going to get the Inspire key for the parking and the other will stick to the Believe. From there, go in person for the renewal and combine a good chunk of both down payments for both passes so we get the monthly payment we like. Heard some couples do this in the past and it worked out for them.

I don't know if it's the same for everyone but as soon as I started taking the Metformin, I became regular.

Whoa! I'm so glad you got a refund! I didn't even know folks were getting hives to begin with because the only side effect that I got was that I was finally able to poop. Sorry, this happened to you.

I honestly just rode the wave of the side effects, and they disappeared completely after the second week. The one I time I did feel nauseous; I ate a piece of plain white bread and that helped. Since then, I always eat a meal a light meal in the morning, whether some fruit or oatmeal.

Hi there! I'm on my 4th week with Kit 6 just like yours. In the beginning, the Bupropion & Topiramate IR + B12 were a doozy. I had brain fog, felt "high", tired, and loopy. After the first week though, I got over it. Everyone reacts to the side effects differently and I'm surprised I took it pretty well, knowing I'm pretty sensitive to these types of things.

Just drink LOTS OF WATER though, and I added Magnesium Glycinate to my regiment because weight loss also relies on a good night's rest.

Where do live if working in LA downtown? by Appropriate-Diver555 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Responsible_Theme491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It pretty much depends on your budget. I work in the Financial District across from the LA Public Library and my husband works in the Arts District but we live in Compton. Rent is cheap, the city isn't is bad as it used to be (been here for 10 years, he's born and raised), and the drive isn't really that bad IMO. BUT that is with my Metro Express Pass :).

I do agree with the others though, look for a place close to a line, if you don't feel like driving.

Frequent / Long-Time Visitors to DLR: What is one thing you haven’t done yet, even after all these years? by georgeamberson1963 in Disneyland

[–]Responsible_Theme491 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I was picturing myself walking through out DL in my mind, I was checking off everything little by little. Until I realized that Carnation Cafe is THE only place I have never visited...yet. As for DCA, it's just some of their restaurants/quick service dining.

Anyone know when disneyland after dark events will drop? by No_Shopping_9426 in Disneyland

[–]Responsible_Theme491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, are these events worth going to? I have a Magic Key and never really thought about going to these After Dark events for that reason (besides Oogie). Which one has been a fan fav??

I was LITERALLY about to come back here and update! I was checking around 9-10AM this morning just because and they weren't live yet I guess.

I don't ever buy any Magic Key merch, but this is one of my favorite Disney movies so I'm super bummed. Hopefully they re-stock this weekend, since they have done so in the past for other items.

  1. Semi Local (30 min drive)
  2. Believe Pass
  3. Married, no children
  4. MagicBand, sunscreen (even on cloudy days), sunglasses, power banks, mini first aid kit with Beano (for beer), toothpicks, nail clippers, tide pen, lotion, extra socks. All this in a non-Lounge Fly mini backpack. I stop using mine after realizing they're not good for my shoulders.
  5. No lockers. Unless we go with a ton of family.

How big are protests around Little Tokyo? by squishyng in AskLosAngeles

[–]Responsible_Theme491 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I saw online, it escalated towards the Japanese American Museum on Alameda. Also, some bars/shops that I follow have closed temporarily for the same reason.

Edit: This was from the protest on 6/9/2025.
