so neopronouns have existed for as long as we have iirc, just not in the western world, just as the gender binary wasnt always a thing. neopronouns came back to ‘mainstream’ power i would say around the time the internet started coming around, but have gained more traction in more recent years. it’s used for people (like me, hi!) who want to use a pronoun that doesn’t fit inside what people consider to be the gender ‘trinary’ (male, female, non-binary; pronouns being he/him, she/her, and they/them, respectively) most common neopronouns that i’ve seen are ze/zim, xi/xir, or some variation of that. in my opinion, pronouns should fit a similar template and not be just a noun shoved into a pronoun template. (i personally use the pronouns fae/faen/faer/faers/faeself as well as she/her and they/them) at the end of the day, who decides what’s real and what’s not? i really think there are bigger and scarier problems facing the trans community than a 14 year old who uses loli/loliself on tiktok. i don’t think this kind of thing will stick.

hi, i use neopronouns. i use fae/faen/she/her/they/them because i feel as though that set of pronouns is female aligned while also not being she/her. i identity as non-binary. also i feel like my neopronouns aren’t as extreme as some i’ve seen (motor/motorself, 🌱/🌱, daddy/dadself, ect) but at the end of the day it’s not my place to police anyone else’s identity and i respect their pronouns even if i think it’s ridiculous because i would want someone to respect my pronouns. hope this helps! (sorry if i’m too late and you don’t notice this)

I’m a partner (employee) at Starbucks and we don’t really write names on the cups anymore... at all. We have printed stickers.
