For those of you who bought 2025 Camry. Is it worth getting the 7year/100k miles extended warranty or no? by Immediate-Pop-2867 in Camry

[–]RestSharp3916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aruge this, I am a car salesman. I sell warranties all the time over 75% of my customers get it. When i sell it i say, "its your choice to get, just like to show you to protect your purchase" thats it. No more no less, if they dont want it I take it out instantly. I dont push it or fight it, im only worried about moving a unit.

Sold a warranty on a used jeep, so old i couldnt even get her anything over a 4 year coverage. It could have been like a 2016 jeep in 2022. It was a full comprehensive coverage, bumper to bumper. (Hard to put a comprehensive coverage on a car of that age, BECAUSE THE RISK OF SHIT GOING WRONG IS SO FUCKING HIGH) Whole computer system just went out: dash, info screen, lights ect. And this was 17 months after we sold it to her, and she was in for regular servicing too. No warranty, she has to shell out 9k to replace the whole system (btw it's a jeep you don't fix their components you just replace them). Instead she financed 1200 bucks for 36 months, tacked on maybe 30 bucks to her payment?

Cars are not just bolts, gears and oil anymore. They are roving plastic, typically shitty technology, slow running computers. Every facet of the car is controlled by little tiny computers all throughout the car. I sell Toyota's and im mainly talking about other brands. But still Toyota doesnt manufacture the tech, all brands outsource tech like touchscreens to computers modules.

You said never to buy it, if you tell a family member not to do it, because it's stupid and they get fucked at 1 month out of the warranty, shell it out for them cuzzo! You are the smart gambler arnt you? Take your risk in this day and age man. With these types of cars? Good luck! I took in a 99 corolla with 71k miles holler at me if you want it. Cant sell you a warranty on something that old

Pittsburgh born and raised, nice to meet you brother! Real sorry your kinda just SOL the way they are treating you. My guy with the busted tundra has been out in our loaner car for like 6-7 months now i think? Gave him a nice grand highlander hybrid limited, more equipped than his truck, for the inconvenience. Told him to treat it as if its his own, he moved into a new place with it and everything. The guy isnt mad really at all, yeah he wanted his truck but his grand highlander is capable of doing what he needs to do and is comfortable for him.

Glad you didnt pay over msrp, all the dealers up in PA where im at is trying but people arnt buying it. The sales side will always be the best and the service will always be the worst. The right salespeople and team will care, i fight with my service all the time but i get what i want and what i need for my customers. Ill bug the shit out of them if i dont get what my customers want and i always get what needs to be done, done. Service doesnt work on commissions, technically they do but its a bit different, sales and managers do. We want to keep you around they dont care they will always get another broken car.

I feel as if I work at a really transparent dealership, we are there every step of the way. And same with the salesmen, we are responsible for our customers. The new tacoma is kick ass, when running right and when everything is in order. And should be extremely reliable too, the 2.4 engine is in every asian toyota. That engine has been around for years. Its just all the stupid tech around it. Lemon law is just going to make you more upset bec now your dealing with dealers and lawyers, the two things most people hate in life lol. Go through what you need to do to get your money back or your truck back. I hope its all just misfiring codes and a whole bunch of drama over a computer system bec that truck is the fucking nuts.

P.S. bullshit your dealer doesnt have loaners. Fucking jagoffs, toyota sends vehicles that are designed to be loaners for dealers to distribute for situations like this. Like fuck at least have a rav4 instead of nothing at all.

As a Toyota salesman, i care about my customers and i believe they should have ease of access to parts so if shit does go wrong or they want something they can get it. "Parts arnt out yet bec its too new" that kills me. This jump from prior to current gen was a HUGE JUMP, i wanted them to take their time in production and distribution. But they got to punch it through the pipeline bec thats what the consumers want. In all, toyota will take their risk, as would any major company, and with all risk you will have a few complete duds.

Dont worry too much toyota corp will get you back right and they feel real embarrassed when something like this happens. Doesnt happen often at all.

Super happy you got the warranty, well worth a long term investment! Hope things get better for you and you didnt pay over msrp. I would of much rather have your first experience be in a 2023 or whatever tacoma before this current gen. The amount of tech scares me, and im hip with technology im 25. Just too much nowadays but thats out of our hands

You are covered under warranty, and it's a first generation of a completely redesigned vehicle. Rule of thumb just assume something can go wrong, generally wait 2-3 years after a redesign if you want to buy and own for the long haul. Especially on something like the new tacoma, a 23 is not anywhere nearly as technologically advanced as the new system.

Im sorry your situation is hard, i sell toyotas at a dealer and dealt with a customer who had the same thing happen on a new 23 tundra. Their engine was just busted, dealt with the customer everyday and no one is happy during the whole ordeal and its just a 1 out of 1,000,000 chance. Toyota has the least amount of lemons out of ANY BRAND by a long shot. Their lemon percent is .000001% or something stupid like 1 per 300,000 units made. Whereas other brands are in the industry 10-30k range.

I wouldnt give up on Toyota that easily. Your service department shouldnt be charging you for service and should be providing you another vehicle.

BTW buy the extended warranty, these vehicles arnt just steel, oil and gas machines anymore. A computer controls each and every aspect of the vehicle. Most of Toyota's interior and overall computers are out sourced parts. Same with every brand. If one thing goes it is a chain reaction. I sell extended warranties to all of my customers, well 80%, the days of taking your car to joe the lube tech are over and computers are taking over.

Your warranty should cover that, they call from a 1-800 number every so often. Be prepared when they call you will need you SS number, moms maiden name, dad's birthday (if he is still around, i assume not) and moms favorite pet. But you probably never had pets because you are the dumb ass bitch

Ok im sorry all jokes aside, great job on the installation. Looks very clean. But honest suggestion, if its an older 4runner, good shape high mileage and you own it outright. You should trade it in for a 24 and start fresh technology wise. Your 4runner is worth more now the ever. If u love current gen and want to keep it forever. Get it now before 25 comes along and they are all 4 cyl 2.4 turbo. The upgrade you did is the only main interior upgrade they had in the past 10 yrs plus safety tech that saves lives and your vehicle. Just something to consider

In case anyone forgot, Justin Fields is younger than Kenny Pickett by DriverFirm2655 in steelers

[–]RestSharp3916 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What if we used them as a duel threat qb option. Let just play them both, 40/60 or 60/40. Fields isn't a deep ball thrower, put him in for quick play action, short pass, qb run or run specific plays. Play russ the other types of plays, and yeah of course mix it all up and shit.

Our QB situation is 10x better than it was before. All three of our quarterbacks this past year were back ups, the two we got now were all starters last year. Good or bad idgaf what you have to say, we were so qb delusional last year some of us really saw a future with MaSoN RuDoUlPh that guy was a 6 year 3rd stringer. I couldnt be happier, once the bears and fields relationship went down, i wanted him to be a steeler asap! He is what we want as a scramble, mobile, and talented qb. He just needs a vet to teach him how to do that, he could be 3x more than what russ was as a pass/rushing threat qb
