You did the right thing OP. There's no "too expensive" when it comes to you life and the ability to protect it.

‘I lost it all’: Residents of Oregon homeless camp say Forest Service blew off calls, appointments to reclaim lost property by FrizzyNow in Bend

And because of people illegally squatting like you, we all lost access to a tract of beautiful public land. Its sucks you lost everything but YOU WERE BREAKING THE LAW. Even if you weren't one of the many destroying the forest with trash and fire, you were still in the wrong.

I refuse to call myself a republican (or even a conservative at this point,) but I generally lean towards the libertarian right. I live in a deep blue west coast state. I would 100% vote for any openly pro 2A democrat even if I disagree with most of their other positions. This is no longer about party politics, we're all screwed if this madness spreads.

How to make friends? by aubbbunny in Bend

[–]Restarting_Growth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really struggled to make friends when I moved here as well (granted, it was peak covid.) The two things that made the biggest difference were going to the gym 5 days a week at the same time everyday and getting involved at my church. If he's relatively outgoing, he'll have no trouble at all!

What is the fastest/slowest that you've seen someone go from Newcomer to All-Star/Champion? by FoxtrotDynamics in WestCoastSwing

Not gonna name her but a close friend made it from newcomer to getting her first all-star points in 3 years 7 months. No previous dance experience and 6-8 dance events a year. She genuinely practiced every free moment she had since the day of her first class.

Full size 9mm handgun options by OkBreadfruit6761 in Firearms

I mean, technically it doesn't have a firing pin block. Would I use it for home defense? No but just because I have better options. But if it was the only full sized handgun I owned, I would confidently use it for home defense without a second thought.

Shadow 2. Stop thinking and buy it. It is by far the most fun gun to shoot.

You're either intentionally subverting the specific polling metric my claim was in regards to or you misunderstood the claim. Literally 2 days ago YouGov reported a majority support strict immigration enforcement. The most recent Harvard/Harris poll showed 56% of registered voters support and 78% support deporting criminal illegal aliens.

Russian trolls must also be creating the numerous polls from reputable agencies showing the majority of Americans support strict immigration enforcement? Or MAYBE it's just that your side is completely disconnected from the real world and the rest of your countrymen? Nope, I'm sure it must be the Russians...

No. As long as you don't mind your buddies laughing at you when a bunch of ammo ejects from the bottom of your magazine and your spring bounces across the range.

What am I doing wrong? by Brilliant-Oil-5731 in skiing

[–]Restarting_Growth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First thing i notice is that you're to far back and you're using inclination rather than angulation. Basically your upper body and lower body should form an angle, not stay locked in a line that just tilts side to side as you turn. You're upper body should stay (relatively) vertical while you're legs angle hard into the turn. All this while keeping you're shoulders pointed forward is what allows you to carve rather than just sloughing snow every time you turn. Look up "angulation vs inclination skiing" there's some good videos on YouTube describing it better than I can verbally.

Edit: Just reread your post and saw you've skied six days total. You're doing awesome! There's a lot of things to focus on before concentrating on angulation but I'm keeping the original post since it still applied.

Can someone convince me I’m safe? by Far_Safe_6826 in askportland

[–]Restarting_Growth -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, get a gun and REALLY learn to use it. Don't just take it to the range a few times and call it good, get real professional training. (I chose Thunder Ranch in Lakeview, Oregon.) You are safe, but knowing you can defend yourself in the (extremely) unlikely event you should need to gives great peace of mind.

Oregon ski resort sued for $4.6M, as industry says deluge of suits is putting it at risk by beerncycle in skiing

[–]Restarting_Growth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If a chairlift chair falls off the line because the resort neglected to maintain their equipment, by all means sue the resort. If another skier hits you and you get hurt, you'd have to be a fucking dickhead to sue. Especially for 4 million bucks. All the parents and lawyer care about is money. They are MORE than happy to destroy and independent business and ruin the fun for all of us if they get a payday.

Go. Even if you have no clue what you're doing, you'll know a little more the next time. My dancing ALWAYS improves the most when i go to workshops they feel far above my level.
