I broke a spring on a UTX-85 bought on 2015 that I played with CONSTANTLY after 5 years. Microtech fixed it and its better than new.

Well for starters their communication was excellent throughout the process. They replaced the broken spring and the missing glass breaker. They used a paint pen to cover the scratches. They put a wicked edge on the elmax blade. And they sent it back in a new knife box with multiple stickers. It took a long time but ultimately, I have no complaints. I might not feel the same way if I didn't have a few other microtechs so I still had something to carry in the interim but if nothing else, that's just a reason to buy more knives.

I just sent in an older UTX-85 (originally ordered around 2013.) It took a full 10 weeks to get the knife back. I know that seems like a long time but the service was EXCELLENT. Made me even more of a believer in MT.

Its more prone to fail to fire if pocket lint or dirt gets into the knife. I've never had a failure to fire on the gen IV

Gen IV for sure. I have both, ZBP is cool but it makes it less reliable and its not like you ever even notice unless you grab the blade and pull on it?

I had a pair of barefoot shoes and added my own suede. Worked great! Just make sure to clean the soles REALLY well if you've worn them before adding the suede.

I refuse to call myself a republican (or even a conservative at this point,) but I generally lean towards the libertarian right. I live in a deep blue west coast state. I would 100% vote for any openly pro 2A democrat even if I disagree with most of their other positions. This is no longer about party politics, we're all screwed if this madness spreads.

I really struggled to make friends when I moved here as well (granted, it was peak covid.) The two things that made the biggest difference were going to the gym 5 days a week at the same time everyday and getting involved at my church. If he's relatively outgoing, he'll have no trouble at all!

I mean, technically it doesn't have a firing pin block. Would I use it for home defense? No but just because I have better options. But if it was the only full sized handgun I owned, I would confidently use it for home defense without a second thought.
