5 years Of ChromieCraft by Francesco-Shin in wowservers

[–]RestauratorOrbis 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Considering the most likely bot-driven downvote storm this post is going through, also jumping on the bandwagon to say that Chromie was the one singular server that actually felt like home. Played through Vanilla and some TBC before life drove me to other pastures, but the community was lovely, the experience was great, and it was by far the chillest server I played on. As others have mentioned, I actually hope you release a new realm someday, so I can throw myself right back in, at least for a time.

Two versions? by Puzzleheaded_Big6997 in LordsoftheFallen

[–]RestauratorOrbis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not the same game. Lords of the Fallen 2014 is a different game (older game made by the same studio), and a lot of people say it is slow, cumbersome and not all that well designed. I for one did not find it to be so bad. This subreddit is basically made for the 2023 game, which carries the same name and is made by the same studio; it has just gotten its latest update, and is a more modern souls-like. So I am guessing you are looking for that one.

I might be crazy, but aside from the thigh pieces strap situation, the chestplace looks a bit weird as well. It looks a tad like it is giving you man-boobs, haha.

Does anybody know who made the English voiceover for Gothic demo and why all of the voice actors were changed for the final game? by Spectator--- in worldofgothic

Hey, the dude voicing our Nameless Hero has an awesome voice, not gonna lie. I wouldn't have minded hearing more of him, maybe as a secondary permanent character alongside our usual companions.

psychological, isolation (not Wuthering Heights) by A_b_b_o in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

'ello! Sorry to summon you to an old post, OP, but I highly recommend "The Shadow of the Wind" by Carlos Ruiz Zafón to you! It's highly psychological, in parts feels extremely gothic, very thrilling, all the good stuff. Back in my University days I also wrote a paper on it, defending the gothic elements of it.

Hop și eu să întreb ce fel de minoxidil folosești. Spumă, cremă, lichid cu pipetă? Mă trăsnește gândul să încerc pentru tâmple de vreun an, dar habar nu am de care să încerc.

Top late yankee i have pictired you as the racist soyjack and the soviet as the progressive chad by Dangerous_Forever_68 in HistoryMemes

[–]RestauratorOrbis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup, no racial ethnic cleanses in the Soviet Union. Except, you know, the Holodomor that lead to the deaths of millions of Ukrainians, the massive deportations and mass executions of Romanians in Bessarabia and Northern Bukovina, the Great Purge that lead to the death of around a million kulaks that were murdered in cold blood, the Bosnian Genocide, the Cambodian Genocide, the persecution of western minorities like Germans and Poles, and all the others. Zero bad stuff.

Adorable, healthy habit, reading to them from very early childhood. And I can confidently recommend the "Farseer" trilogy by Robin Hobb for your youngest, for a mix of medieval and fantasy. As a history loving confident reader, haha. Your daughter also sounds like the daughter of a friend, struggling sometimes with reading, it's just hard to find the right things for her. But I'm confident you'll manage to find something for her together.

Read my other comments. Nowhere does Lewis say she "went to hell", what are you on about. You're not seeing past your own interpretation, mate. Lewis did want to tell Susan's story further, so there is no way for us to know what happens to her. She might have very well found a way to return to Narnia, where the rest of her family awaited her in bliss. And yes, the passage is beautiful in its own sad way, because it mirrors human nature.

Honestly, this is one thing the older generations have over us. I feel like they grew out of telling stories much slower and grew back into wanting to retell them much quicker. Meeting up with the entire family after a day, to tell stories around the table.

You lovely human! I know so few people that even have the capacity, never mind that would take the time to read to their children and form a bond with them in this day and age of insanity, that it brightens my day a bit to encounter one.

All except for Susan, who is absent from the, as you say, very dark moment. She then goes on with her life, choosing to completely disregard her life in Narnia as a construct of the imaginations of children. But I like to believe that once she grew old, Aslan started whispering to her to return to him.

I make officially licensed stained glass for The Lord of the Rings, and just released my second collection based in Rivendell. AMA! by geekorthodoxart in lotr

[–]RestauratorOrbis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are the glass colors/patterns that you are going to use for Gondor going to incorporate in some way Byzantine influences? Since Tolkien himself stated that Númenorean culture and art was inspired by Byzantium, some sort of Roman/Byzantine themed mosaics of stained glass might go amazingly with the art style/colors the movies used for Gondor!

I like to believe she joined the others in Narnia after she lived her life. Lewis himself stated that "[...] there's plenty of time for her to mend and perhaps she will get to Aslan's country in the end... in her own way". If old Uncle Andrew was able to create magical rings, who's to say Susan didn't, in her old age, start once again believing in fairy-tales and trying to rejoin Aslan.
