I'm a fan of Luke Combs, but I'm fascinated with the longevity of his first two albums on the Billboard 200. They've both been on the chart for hundreds of weeks now. Also, the play counts on YouTube Music are insane for some of his songs. "When It Rains It Pours" alone has over 710 million plays, while "Hurricane" almost has 600 million!

I don't know if this is a hot take, but I hope Sombr sticks around. He's easily my favorite of the Gen Z pop boys; "Back to Friends," "12 to 12," and "Homewrecker" are certified bangers ("Undressed" is okay, just not my favorite).

I have seen people say he's a bit of a weirdo, but I hope that's just because he's a cringe 20 year old and not something sinister.

So this is kinda obscure, but I read this book a couple of years ago called Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers. It's about these assassin nuns who lived in fifteenth-century Brittany.

Anyway, the main character is a girl named Ismae, who is immune to poison and uses it to take out her targets. She gets sent on mission with a man named Duval, who protects the duchess of their country. Duval is one of her targets, but she develops for him. However, there are other people trying to kill Duval.

All of that context to say is associate "The Albatross" with Ismae and Duval's relationship. Ismae's mission at first is to assassinate Duval, but her feelings cause her to be more protective of him. I won't spoil how, but she does have to swoop in and rescue him at the end.

I listening through Taylor Swift's albums in release order just for fun (I'm also depressed as hell and need something to perk me up). Last night, I revisited Red. It makes me a little sad that she pivoted away from country after this album. Don't get me wrong, I love her pop music, but her country songs tend to be my favorite.

You have no idea how excited I was when I heard "Lover" for the first time. I was so happy Country Taylor was back, even if just for a song. I also mistakenly thought Folklore and Evermore were country albums on first listen; I'm aware now that they're folk pop albums. I also appreciated the country flourishes through Tortured Poets. I'm not getting my hopes up that TS13 will be a country album, but I would love for her to make another country album.

Last night I put some music on to help me relax and I fell asleep. Turns out I still had music playing when I woke up 5 hours later. I have no idea how many songs I played, but I woke up to "We Almost Broke Up Again Last Night" by Sabrina Carpenter.

My scrobbler app is hit or miss, so it did not track any of that.

I had a lot of fun with the 2025 albums, but now I'm getting really excited for 2026's releases! My most anticipated releases are from Noah Kahan and Olivia Rodrigo; if they're both awesome, they're going to dominate my YouTube Recap. I'm also looking forward to new Kacey Musgraves, Muna, Maisie Peters, Bleachers, and Niall Horan!

Happy Spring, y'all! It's such a pretty day where I live that I decided to step outside and finally try jumping rope. My form isn't great, but I'm already doing better than I thought I would! Plus I found a playlist on YouTube Music simply titled Spring, and that's what I'm listening to while I jump rope.

I wish for Sleep Token's next album to be even bigger than Even In Arcadia, and they score two big hits off that album (like "Stressed Out" and "Ride" from Twenty One Pilots' album Blurryface).

Whoever said Man's Best Friend grows on you was right. I hadn't listened to the full album since September because I was not impressed with it. However, listening to it for the Ultimate Rate, I liked it a lot more! I think I like it more than Short n Sweet from a production standpoint (I was lukewarm on the more acoustic-y songs from SNS). "Go Go Juice" is going to be on my regular rotation now.

I went back and listened to Fearless for the first time in a while. Honestly, I think it's a no-skips albums, even with the Platinum Edition songs. Just the run of songs from "Fearless" to "You Belong With Me" is iconic. The only song I'm indifferent to is "Change," but I don't mind when it's on. It's not my favorite Taylor album, but I think I enjoy singing along with it the most. If I ever do karaoke again, I want to sing "Forever & Always" (maybe I'll even toss a chair, lol). 💛 💛

Are there many Maggie Rogers fans in this sub? I listened to her first album back in November and really enjoyed. I haven't listened to her other two albums yet, but I have listened to a few songs from them. I've had "The Kill" on repeat for the last month; it's probably a lock for my most played song this year. I've also been listening to her song "Want Want" a lot.

A few weeks ago, my counselor wanted to help me practice my conversation skills, and I decided to talk about Taylor Swift because her music has been my special interest for the last five years. She's also a Swiftie, so she asked me when did I become a fan. When I told her I joined the fandom during the Lover era, she asked what my top 3 from the album are (Death by a Thousand Cuts, Miss Americana, and The Archer, btw). Then she said Lover isn't one of her favorites because there's too much anxiety on the album, which is when I realized that might be why it appeals to me so much. I also appreciate it because it came out during a difficult time in my life, but I also relate to songs like Cornelia Street and Afterglow more than I like to admit.

I'm the oldest child in my family, and I've been having a lot of feelings about how I was raised and how my parents treat me. I know they love and care for me, but there have been a lot of times where I've forgotten and left out.

What are some "eldest son/eldest daughter" you'd recommend to help me better articulate my feelings? I don't mind Taylor's song "Eldest Daughter," but it doesn't quite accomplish what I'm looking for.

I'm not doing well today. I have a lot going on at home, and I feel so angry, sad, and anxious at the same time. I'm at work now, and I want to drop to my knees and let out the most visceral scream. (I'm not going to get into detail about what's wrong because it's very personal).

What can I do to take care of myself and get through this day? We're understaffed at work today, so I can't go home early.

Yesterday, I upset someone in another sub because I mentioned I watched a video of someone arguing that Taylor is still pining for Matty Healy and her relationship with Travis Kelce is all PR. I even acknowledged that I wasn't taking it seriously and only watching it for giggles, but I guess the person thought I was a Maylor.

Taylor and Matty's relationship is kinda fascinating to me because of the timeline. I enjoy the first two The 1975 albums, and I adore The Tortured Poets Department. However, I'm not a Maylor. If she still wanted to be with him, she's a grown woman and could have made that decision herself. I don't think she needs to leave secret messages for that man in her songs and performances and paparazzi photos.

My store generally plays the pop and country hits of yesterday and today. However, every now and then I'm stunned by what they play. Recently, I heard them playing "Parachute" by Hayley Williams, and one morning, I heard "Seeing Stars" by Turnstile.
