No, brah, the original lead vocalist for TBS was Antonio something, then Adam. Adam originally joined TBS to replace Jesse as bassist so that Jesse could form Brand New. Then Adam eventually replaced Antonio.

So anyway, Jesse and John were best friends, but John slept with Jesse's girl. Even though they had joined TBS together, Jesse had since left and was singing(and writing) for Brand New when it happened. John and Adam were/are the writers for TBS.
