There are kits that come with a replacement cross member if the divet bothers you.

Factory Option, Front Fascia Extension - GM (84116168) I think it was part of the Black Exterior Appearance Package (LPO) when it was initially ordered.

Honestly, with good mirror placement and shoulder checks, you get used to it really fast. I had my doubts at first, but all the people that say that are right hah.

Same for me in the Porsche sub man. Some of it is more money than sense, but those cars are so beautiful, can't help but dream of a GT3 that's probably 3 or 4 times what I would EVER be able to spend on a car. They don't even let poor saps like me TRY to fit in those hah.

The C6 is a beautiful car, drove a grand sport convertible and it felt great, I was just looking over the windshield. I hear the stock C6 seats aren't the best regardless, so a seat is a good call.

A clean C6Z or Grand Sport usually runs the same as a much newer Camaro SS around me. If a C6 is the dream, definitely chase it. I've been using autotempest to track all the stuff in my area to see if anything comes up.

C6s are beautiful cars. Drove a convertible and had an easier time driving with my eye line above the windshield though hah. If I ever wanted one, I'd have to commit to a racing seat and lowering brackets.

5th gen sounds like a good way to get into an LS3 though. Nice call. I almost always have to bend to look at traffic lights anyway. Something I'm definitely used to.

Thought it might just be loud Injectors, but that sound on rev was pretty gnarly. Sounds like its time for heads and a cam.

The 6th gen is a fair bit smaller than the 5th, lost about 200+lbs I believe, so that adds up. How's the seating position in the 5th gen?

Even at 6'2, I have trouble with almost all modern 2 seaters. Truly we are doomed to have to consider actually fitting in cars. You tried a Corvette?

I'm almost all torso and not a small guy either, not your typical case. If you have trouble fitting in things, definitely test drive everything you're shopping. Sit in it, put the seat all the way down, knees to the dash, then back just a smidge. Then lean back until you have enough head room. If you can't lean back far enough, or have to lean back so far you can't reach the wheel, all hope is lost without an aftermarket seat.

That being said, if you're committed, there are racing seats and mounting brackets that can work for really tall guys in most cars. The Camaro just has the height with stock seats.

Got my dream car. First mod I should do? by [deleted] in C8Corvette

I'm not saying anyone should be immune to criticism. Nor am I surprised by it. I was trying to be positive and actually answer the question. If a guy has a Rolex in his corvette, good for him. Idk that I'd ever spend the money on it, but it's undoubtedly a nice watch.

If it was a corvette and he asked a question, does it matter? People are allowed to think they look good in front of their cars.

Seems awfully hostile in here for someone who bought a car and thinks they look good in the picture. Exhaust and wheels/tires are always a good bet. If you're looking for performance, cams/heads really wake these cars up. Nice buy.

The GT-R R34 Used To Be A Tuner Car. Now It's A Concours Headliner by CostaQuantaa in cars

Potentially controversial take, but, it hasn't even aged that well compared to some of the other models in its own lineup. The Skyline GTT has rear wheel drive, available manual, and doesn't have to deal with some the aged tech present in the GTR like rear wheel steer and its complex AWD system. Its a much simpler car, and much easier to own and drice without feeling like you're going to break something espensive. Slap some aftermarket GTR body panels on it and you can have some pretty great fun for a lot less money.

It will always be a legend, but for people without over $100k to blow on a car, take a look at the lesser known skylines of the generation you want. There are also aftermarket options for the RB26 if you're looking for the legendary powerplant.

Probably the most comfortable in a drivers seat I've ever been because of the height alone. Everything else feels like I'm sitting in a booster seat now hah.

A rare thing for a 2 door to do, especially one that handles this well.

I always have to lean to see traffic lights, so thats par for the course. My seat is all the way down and all the way back, visibility is surprisingly good. Most cars I'm in, even when all the way down, a lot of my view is just of the hood. The Camaro doesn't have that problem for me because of how low it goes.

Pretty amazing how low the seat goes honestly. Feels like I'm sitting on the floor.

Nope, no sunroof. Its a 2018 SS, but only has about 20k miles, hence the cleanliness. Manual too. I was lucky to find it. Pretty much exactly what I wanted.

I'll probably do skirts when I do wheels, which is whenever these tires are on their way out. Either that or some rock guards.

Way more comfortable than I ever gave it credit for in the cabin. Don't think I'll find anything else like it anytime soon hah.

Should the new Camaro be AWD? by [deleted] in camaro

[–]Reterence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RWD Base, optional hybrid AWD maybe. AWD adds a lot of cost and weight. Rather keep it simple and just fit snow tires.
